I wrote an article once.. sort of a view from the future. It ended up being too whimsical to publish (it was for a campus paper).. but it was about data storage and what happened in the 50 years after all private data became public.

Basically most marriages ended and political leaders were unelectable :)

the buzz will keep the big guys trying even if these first attempts are unsuccessful. It's certainly worth trying again and again. Facebook is a big and interactive market.

Excellent post Nick. I think we all wish you were the one who interviewed him on camera/at the conference.

Most of us feel a similar sense of drive as Mark...so I think we all just want a glimpse of what it's like to have the project you're passionate about grow into something that everybody is passionate about. $15 billion dollar valuations don't begin to describe almost 100 million people using your dream every day.

I just caught a clip of a piece of the interview. Looks like she has no idea how to run an interview. She's not just unprepared... but her random questions are yes/no at best.

Facebook has to keep Zuckerberg at a distance. With a shy, young, snippy CEO, and a company poised to go public, Zuckerberg can't be running around getting filmed on TMZ acting foolish.

I know a ton of people who have the charisma and wit to keep a bad interview interesting as interviewers. I don't know anybody who would take on the task of interviewing Zuckerberg without being able to keep it very, very interesting.
Maybe next time they should get you to do it, Nick!

He acts nice and smug, but one single discontented girl could sue his pants off. The fact that he stops breaking the law when asked just reveals the slime. Not a single girl is contacts before the photos are posted, and the vast majority of the girls probably have no idea. Punitive damages are a bitch when you're breaking laws to destroy the reputations of young ladies.

then again... when was the last time something that looked every bit like a fad got valuations of 100x their rev?

P/E ratios of 100 are pretty hard to justify without seeing a nice plan to generate revenue. I assume one exists.
