Still exorcising! However it gets easier as you go along... Really.

The best way for me to do it is to keep working on new music. That approach is working pretty well for me right now.

Thanks for stopping by.

Hi Kristie.
The drums are programmed and actually they were a quick run through with some of my less favourite, but quick to use samples.
I have some much nicer sounding drums at my disposal for when I want to spend some time on, like on my album, which is very very close to release now. (After a trip to Bangkok, so should be out in about a week's time).
If you like the drums on this recording I think you'll really like the drums on the album.

Thanks for the comment.

Thanks for the fastest comment in WSC history Maria! The post was 21 minutes old when you left it!
Thanks for the comment. I still think back to your show where you interviewed me and I think I had those fears a little myself, when you described me as a successful entrepreneur or such like. I realized that I had sub-consciously been denying I was anything like that and still just, little ol' me. I started worrying about how I was going to sound like a successful musical artist creating my own reality until I reminded myself of what I said in this post about focusing on being what I wanted to be rather than wishing to be it. It came out really well.

Thanks very much and glad to hear about your great experience last week.

Yeah. Antibiotics for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The ear's better now, but I've still got to keep popping the pills 'til they've gone.
Thanks for the comments folks and stay tuned for the album, which is going very well. So much left to do still, but all good :)

Thanks for the comment Ben. Your imaginitive songs and work ethic have inspired me also, so I guess we can both pat each other on the back!

Best of luck with your challenge too. I might even manage 1 more song before the last hour, but It's not too high on the priority list.

I'll resume songwriting duties next week most likely and I'll try and keep a regular target per month to keep my song arsenal well stocked up!

in Make The Most on The Weekly Songcast
Hey Slushie Crusher, thanks for the comment.
Despite how hard you feel your life has been, remember that it has nothing to do with how successful you can be because that is up to you right now and all the "nows" that will follow. Some of the most successful people in history dropped out of school, came from poor backgrounds or faced adversity early in life.

Think of any hardship you may have had as essential preparation and training for you to be able to cope with any future obstacles and to remind you never to give up on any dream you may have. Hey, you're just 17, you've got a whole life ahead of you and if you adopt a healthy mindset now then you will be unstoppable in the years to come.

All it takes is a belief that you will live the life you really want, no matter how impossible it seems right now. You are allowed to have the life you want, so with the right approach and the right mindset, you can have it.

Thanks for the last line of your comment. That has officially told me that I have achieved a goal, to inspire someone with my music. Now I want to inspire many more!
Good luck to you man. :-)

Thanks Krisite. It certainly seems to have been a very well received song. I may have to re-think things and put this on the debut album.
So many songs and only space for a few!

Be well.

Thanks Maria.
Yes it was a very quick hour! I wasn't sure if I would have enough to say, but I think I could have gone on talking for another hour!

I also find that informing people about various things also helps makes those things clearer in my own head. There is no better way to grow and learn than by sharing what you have.

Be well!

I agree that personality is important to get you noticed and build relationships with potential customers, but in a business sense, that will not mean anything if it is not backed up by substance.

If you make people laugh for instance and they like your style but then you fail to meet any of their actual business requirements or expectations, like meeting deadlines etc. those people may like you as a person, but they won't do business with you.

As with any business, being good at what you do or having a good product is not enough.

Like it has been mentioned in above comments in one way or another, you have to find a unique way of presenting your business. What a business is really doing is providing enough value to somebody for them to justify the money they hand over to you.

In other words you have to provide at least the same money's worth of value as the price you are asking. If you can present your product or service in a way that explains exactly what it will bring to your potential clients' lives (for the better of course) and if that is a true claim then you will attract the clients that do not need to be 'sold' to.
The way to stand out therefore is to determine your ideal customers and market yourself based on your unique selling proposition, which is tailored to those ideal customers, rather than trying to appeal to everyone.

Yes it's obvious, but many new businesses forget to do it!

Well that's one way anyway.

I always love that. You write a song that is so quick and effortless and it's easy to dismiss it's value because of it. Somehow it seems that all of us are programmed to value things that have to be "suffered" to achieve.
Effortless is the way forward!

Thanks for the feedback Peter.
I'll take it on board. I was planning on making the lyrics available as a book / ebook at some point. I'm not sure exactly how I want to present that yet, but that's what feedback is for.

Thanks for the advice.

Thanks for that Kristie,

Would you like to fill in the feedback survey? I would be really grateful if you could. I want to get the word out to as many people as possible to fill in this survey and I know that word of mouth is pretty powerful, so if you feel compelled to, don't be afraid of telling all your friends and contacts about it.
Us musical geniuses have to stick together you know! ;-)
