I see I'm still clinging on to the foot of your 'comment chart'. ;)

I hope everything's been good for you, buddy, and that the weekend is a fun one.

Ciao for now.

An interesting read, Graham. Good to get to know you a little better, and I'm also looking forward to part 2.

in How I Use Twitter at Volume on Chris Brogan
Great insight, Chris. Open and honest, which I'd expect from you, and which I also believe is by far the best policy.

I hope the day goes well, without too many angry 'unfollow DMs'.

Thanks for mentioning my own case of domain hijacking. Everything turned out well in the end, and I learnt quite a lot in the process.

Hi Terence,

I'm sorry, but I don't have the time to offer you. I also limit myself to pro-bono work for charitable purposes only.

Well, forgetting about any phallic imagery, it's not a great logo anyway.

For one it reads d b, and it looks exactly like someone has just typed those characters and stuck a little bar on top.

Sure, it somewhat resembles headphones, but not a very comfortable set.

Mine's an emphatic 'yes' vote.

Good luck with it.

in Comment Spam Warning Signs on Andy Beard - Internet Business Systems Discussion
To a lesser extent, email signatures within blog comments, adding an additional link to the commenter's website. Not much need for it in my opinion, and normally I'll edit it out if someone has already left a URL in the website field.

Andy Beard That is actually one I thought about just after I posted

These are all just indicators that anyone manually moderating comments might look at, and there is no hard and fast rule set in stone. I have known people leave a comment with a URL under their name, who didn't include a URL in the box provided.

I should also add

Obviously fake emails, made of a jumble of letters
Email address .cn .ru
Repeat comments pointing to different domains
Repeat comments with a different name field - sometimes 3 or 4 comments on the same post with different names, but all with the same IP address

Your dog's gorgeous. I've always thought that.

My dog would also pull towards the curb when nature calls, and I like these ideas from Ping Mag.

Only today have I begun using Twitter. A bit late on the bandwagon, but I can definitely see why others find it so useful.

I hope you're well, Doug.

in PageRank Update – Beware Of Link Exchange Offers on Andy Beard - Internet Business Systems Discussion
Like you, I'm no fan of link exchanges or blogrolls, although the latter is ok if kept on a specific page.

This is the first I've heard of some public PR changes. No surprise to see it on AndyBeard.eu first.

in Aweber RSS To Email Scheduling And Feed Counts on Andy Beard - Internet Business Systems Discussion
It was only this week that I first checked out Aweber. I'd no idea it was so widely used, mainly as I don't focus too much on my email subscription methods. Always good to learn something new though.

Off-topic, are you moving home within Poland? I hope it's not proving as stressful as these things usually do.

in A New Design for Instigator Blog on Instigator Blog
Much cleaner Ben! I'm impressed.

Here's one thing I'd do, although perhaps it's already on your to-do list:

Add a 'categories' section to the sidebar, just below 'most popular posts'. You have 'top categories' in the footer, but I think internal browsing would improve with them also shown up top.

Again, great job.

in Protecting Your Data When Web 2.0 Sites Fail on Webomatica
Like you, I'll still be using Google's services, even though a GMail security failure led to the theft of my domain name.

I've just learnt to be more security concious now, and appreciate how important a good host provider / domain name registrar can be.

Interesting post.
