Love it - this just sealed my decision to use Disqus. This functionality is a big plus since it's all in one place

@Tom: There's been *very little* discussion about additional friends between the wife and I and it certainly wasn't discussed over a cup of coffee. But, I like that you stress the importance of that kind of discussion in everyday conversation - if you can't talk about things, as touchy as they may be, then you probably can't communicate how you want to improve your sex life.
@Jake: You're so old fashion <-- :-) I don't think polyamory is a wide spread idea that's accepted among many couples. My wife comes into bed last night and asks "So, you want to have sex with other women?" and before I could say anything, she said "Well, that's not going to happen...ever"

@orlund: I agree - wouldn't it just be easier to talk about spicing up your sex life in other ways?
@Tom: Good points. I like the idea of an adult vacation. I've heard of the Hedo resorts but don't know much about them. Plus, I think the idea of bringing a 3rd party into the action is more feasible and realistic than running off having sex with other people by yourself.
@Matt: I completely agree - you walk a fine line when you start sharing your wife with other men or vise versa. I would think that sharing your partner would have to be ok on both sides of the relationship and if it's not, then some discussions would need to happen to determine the best course of action.

@SmartFathers: Same here - it's makes me sick to my stomach especially since our little one will be 10 months old in a couple of week. I just can't fathom how that whole situation went down.

@SmartFathers: Wow - that's a fantastic statement and one that we (married folks) should take to heart. It's funny to think that, while in marriage, you can actually fall out of love, but in reality, it probably happens more than we'd care to admit. But, like you said, as long as one of you stays on track then the marriage should be successful.

@Otter: A gift of time would be great as long at it's accompanied by some sparkly and expensive.

@Blake: The Defender SVX is pretty sweet looking! I hear ya' about spending money on a real truck. But, I guess in today's society we're used to just buying cheap things and replacing them when they wear out. That's why you'll never see any of today's cars at antiques in 20+ years.
@Adam: Oh really - I always thought you could head to a dealer and they'd just get one shipped over for you. That really sucks!

@Clint: Thanks for the comment. I haven't settled on a favorite browser yet. My oldest daughter isn't quite old enough to need one but I put this post together for the day that I do need to pick one.

@VegasDad: I thought I had it under control when we had one child, but I feel like I'm going to spin off the planet with two. The balancing becomes much more difficult.

@PJ: Thank you for the insightful comment. Part of me feels like I don't know what my wife's expectation is - I mean, I know I need to help with the kids and do chores around the house but beyond that I'm at a loss. In the haze that is parenting 2 kids, I've lost the idea of what she wants me to be as husband.

You touch on another good point that I sorely lack and that's knowing what your wife appreciates. In my mind I'm thinking one thing is right but I'm sure she's thinking something completely opposite. I've slacked on communicating with her about this subject and probably need to have an adult conversation with her.

You've summed it up nicely with:

...that's a great statement and one that both men and women need to take to heart.

@Dcmba: Very good points. Sometimes the smallest things can make the biggest differences. Maybe some men, including myself, try to focus on big things to carry them through when we ought to be focusing on the small things. I hope your wife enjoys the massage!

@smartfathers: Maybe that's where my wife and I lack some connection. We rarely have a good, adult conversion unless it's something to do with the kids. How do you and your wife know when one of you starts "drifting in the wrong direction"? I'd like to hear more about that if you get a chance.

@Bernie: Thanks for the comment - It's always great to hear from new readers. You're right, marriage IS work and maybe that's where I've fallen short. I guess sometimes, at the end of the day, I don't want to think about "working" for my marriage...I just want it to be. Great to hear from you and stop by any time.
