Just to be argumentative, I have to mention that a hotel I stay in from time to time (in Birmingham) just upped their price $20 a night... and now offer free internet in all their rooms. So regardless of whether or not their guests have the need for internet connectivity, they're paying for itsort of. At least your hotel gave you the option of saving that $12.95 if you so desired.

However, I am in the same boat with youI don't even want to pay for internet in my house, let alone pay for it in a coffee shop when I'm only going to be in there for 20 minutes eating the bagel and latte I just bought from them. If Panera Bread, Joe Mugs, Cafe Louisa, Village Coffee, Cool Beans, and other small business coffee shops and cafes can fork up free internet, why not Starbucks? They're certainly not hurting for it, either.

Hm... I guess I just was raised to think wine was bad if it was less than $20 a bottle... I've actually been proved wrong on that one before so this really shouldn't come as a surprise to me.

Speaking of drinking, Joseph and I are trying to get a group of people up to the 8 tonight for a few drinks. Give one of us a ring if you and/or your missus want to come out.

Funny you should ask, as it correlates to the subject of all this who-ha:

Blogspot doesn't allow "friends only" entries in the way that livejournal does.

Essentially, I want to update, and I decided long ago that ofonesown would be my "innocuous" journal full of needless, harmless information, friendly for all eyes to read... but sadly nothing in my life is needless, harmless, or innocuous... and as such, I don't want to put anything personal on the interweb that can be googled.

Take for instance the fact that fifteen minutes ago (literally) I was in La Jolla drinking copious amounts of gin and talking about the patheticness of Christians. Is that information that should be privy to anyone capable of using google? No...

... but as soon as I hit "submit comment" ... it will be.
