..... Why is there an A, an L, a Y, and a D in the final combination? None of those letters exist in any of the cutlery shown at all prior to that.

i wrote this on oomb's site, but since there is no law against me repeating it on my own, i shall do so:
...in addition what i find highly interesting is the name splayd which, even though its shape has a heavy fork influence its name bears no trace of the word. i presume it is a simple portmanteau of spoon and blade (with a cheeky spelling) which makes it unique in that it is the only one to use blade instead of knife. splayd sounds like a utensil that bob barker would use on reproductive organs.
if it were up to me, i would call it a sporf.

Give the man a break. Everyone makes mistakes. I remember a few years ago that Bobby Cox of the Braves beat his wife. They punished him but let him keep his job. So give him a break you guys so he can support his family. Don't punish the whole family for his mistake.

I have an account with Dell & have purchased few items online from them & to be specific a computer, printer & just recently a camera & case in separate occassions. I cannot remember which of these products I ordered that I used my dell preferred account or if I ever used it. I have moved residence & had been updating my address from the post office & have updated my add/email/phone number in my dell account but for some reason I've never received any bill statement from them for months nor thru email alerts nor phone until now that I had to pay a late fee. I had been receiving products that I ordered & obviously if you order, it will always asks for delivery & billing add or else it won't proceed so obviously they have my address. I had been receiving Dell advertisements thru email so it doesn't really make sense that they won't send me a bill.
Approximately two weeks ago, a COLLECTION AGENCY from DELL FINANCING had been trying to get hold of me thru my cellphone approximately 8 times a day- morning & night & had left a machine automated voicemail morning & night so I tried calling them back per instruction on the voicemail & more than 10times I tried & it won't even let me proceed because it didn't recognize my ZIP code number. I didn't know what was the issue because I wasn't able to get hold of them. After this incident, I decided to purchase a camera using my preferred account but won't even let me use it. So I opened my account with the username & password I had & was shocked to find out that I owe them $227 & was long overdue.
I called the dell financing service & asked them if they can provide me a detailed bill statement that will show me the item purchased because it doesn't show in my account & I needed to know what I'm paying for & I told them I never received any bill so I don't believe I am to pay for a late fee. I couldn't even remember that time what items I have purchased from them. I have to go around the house to see which ones are Dell product. They are not helpful at all. Everytime I call, I always have to update my record & I called them more than 3times. They gave me another number for customer service which always ends up going back to their number/dept. This went on & on & on...It was so frustrating & I searched for another number & finally got hold of a live customer service person who transferred me to 5 other individuals who ended up transferring me back to dell financing people who were not able to help me in the 1st place.
I have always been a responsible individual who makes sure I take care of my debt/credit & don't want to deal with any collection agency. My credit is my lifeline & for them to just call me to tell me I need to pay a late fee for an amount I'm not even aware I owe is a very frustrating experience. I can fully pay this amount in one time if I really do owe this. All I wanted to have is a copy of an itemized bill statement showing the purchased item & the amount & if I do owe this amount, I don't believe I have to pay for a late fee because I didn't receive a statement from mail nor email alert. This I believe is not a very hard request, I have the right to know but they gave me a ran around!
Unfortunately, I still haven't resolved this issue with them because no one seems to know anything & they are very dismissive! This is very inconvenient & very frustrating. Dell won the lousiest & worst service ever. They may be a big company but they will start losing customers if they don't change & better their service.
