250 Employees in the town of derry, thats alot. 40+ thousand a year for a police officer, thats over 20 dollars an hour. With the crime as high as it is.

Why is the taxes going up? How many new houses have been built in the last 5 years. Where is that money going from the new houses?

A tax freeze is nice for a short time but, when the freeze is off the town will have to make up for the lost revenue. Maybe a couple more drug stores will lower the taxes.

You could lower the taxes if the police would pull some of the cars over for the excessive speed they are doing. Do we really need to see the police sitting in parking lots on mainstreet? Try some speed traps on the side streets and genertate revenue that way.

There are alot more perks that are not mentioned.

I love it, some one else noticed. How can we tell our kids to stay off drugs when derry has so many drug stores. Derry is a city and needs a mayor. One person to hold accountable.

You assume that the only reason people go under forclosure is that they over spend. How about when a family moves to an area due to their job and then the company closes. Should they have several hundred thousand dollars in the bank to pay off the loan? Or when a preson budgets their money and then their realestate taxes increas by 3oo dollars a month on top of all their other bills.

I think Mark is trying to say Derry overspends, I mean really how many town halls did we have? How many firestations do we have? Maybe Mark likes all the new homes and schools going up. Remember the town stopped the building boom, they got sued. Now theres about 35 new houses in my area. Its not over spending its how to run a town. Remember the skating rink proposal Mark. Where did that money go that the town collected from its residents?

Maybe Mark is a renter, a builder or one ot the sex offenders coming to town getting kick back.

My neighborhood has had a foreclosure problem for over 10 years. I had to refinance 3 times to keep my house and where does it all go. To the tax man.

Remember this is a town who took 200 thousand tax dollars and gave a loan to a person to open a steak house. But they couldnt help the older couple keep their home/business which they paid taxes for so many years, so they forced them out. And the building is still empty. If Derry was a business the Council would run it into the ground.

It takes the government to clean up the mess the town government has made. Pinkerton and the "famous" home builder in town is the only one making money of the town. Sounds a little fishy.

Derry needs a head tax like Salem. If Derry started a head tax/residence tax every one in town would have to pay. Now I know the home owners pay more than their share but...... If there was a residence tax all the renters would have to pay into they system. Lets say 20 dollars per person per house per year.

Your going to say well the renters cant afford that, or they rent because they cant afford a house. Or you may say the renters pay their share in their rent. My taxes are 600 a month how many renters are paying that much on top of their rent for taxes. A renter with 4 kids does not help the town. And they go to Pinkerton for free.

Heres the secret folks. The "educated" people running the "town" feel that if the taxes are high enough and the town allowes building to continue, the only people who could afford to live in Derry would be the elite.
The problem is the elite do not shop at walmart, if they do shop there they are not elite. The town is full of fake people who wish to come across as the better off class. There is alot of forclosures in these little communities throughout Derry.
Here is a subject the elite can bring up in their little progessive neighborhood meetings, when they break out the fake china and chrystal. WHY IS THERE SO MANY SEX OFFENDERS MOVING IN THE DERRY.
