ESPN coverage of Champions league is not too bad
At least they will show the goals from the other games played that day and are staying on for another 20 minutes until 5pm and then showing another game on Espn Classic
Derrick Rae is a competent enough commentator..my countryman Tommy Smith is an irritating bollox but at least ESPN is covering 2 games each champions league day

Strike that...ESPN needs to buy SETANTA!! and then market those games as part of ESPN3
ESPN have already bought out a European channel part owned by Setanta called NASN
If they bought Setanta NA they could easily package what they already have into ESPN3
with Rugby/Aussie Rules/Rugby League/Gaelic Football along with EPL/Championship/SPL/UEFA etc etc
AND have it all in HD

I am impressed also...I thought that the Neilson numbers would be poor based on the fact that it would be hard to "find" the real football fans in Neilsens ratings systems.
FSC needs to be bought out by ESPN and have ESPN Asia show them how to run an ESPN Soccer Channel

They are not commentators...and shouldn't have been put in that very uncomfortable position by FSC
It shows a lack of knowledge on the part of FSC production team

BBC Sport Football is a lot easier on the eyes than SkySports.com but Sky is class on a saturday when they have video of Soccer Saturday....even though I can watch all the games either on Setanta/FSC or P2P it's still nice to be able to feel the passion on Soccer Saturday isn't it

Agree with RIP...Goaline technology would be acceptable for me as the ref could wave play on and the game continues and if he was wrong the 4th official can buzz him and confirm it was a goal and only then does he need to stop the game.
As far as a bad ref call on a tackle/peno etc...that's part and parcel of the game isn't it...the ref is going to get a few wrong due to the speed of the tackle/incident but I wouldn't want every bloody tackle being reviewed just because we have cameras at the game.
Cameras should be used ONLY to determine if a ball actually crossed the line.

I would get Shoot/ Roy of the Rovers/Tiger and my sisters would get The Beano and Dandy annuals

I miss the pre match/half time/full time analysis in a calm and balanced manner on FSC
I miss a 15 or 30 minute build up to the match with the teamsheets posted and the variables of the game presented for discussion and thought.
I miss proper highlights at the end of the game that include the WHOLE game rather than the last 45 minutes.
I miss a panel of ex players/coaches that KNOW the game...They might be full of shit and I might not agree with their opinions (see shearer BBC) but i miss listening to what they have to say
I miss a panel breaking down a few key moments in each half and showing specific turning points in the game (NOTE TO FSC... Key moments are NOT ALWAYS goals scored)
I miss a Presenter/panel that can sit back in a chair and give us a calm and well thought opinion rather than someone SHOUTING OUT AT THE VIEWER ALL THE TIME ABOUT THE GUINNESS/HARP/BASS PLAY OF THE DAY AND TALKING AS FAST AND AS LOUD AS HE CAN BECAUSE THEY ONLY HAVE 30 SECONDS TO FIT EVERYTHING IN BEFORE WE GO FOR YET ANOTHER BLOODY AD BREAK
I miss the presenters actually BEING at the game and watching the supporters file out behind them as they finish their analysis

FSC is all we have and I am glad for it but there is nothing that compares to a panel that lives and breathes the game...and I miss that
Warren Barton looks like a cardboard cutout on Saturdays...loosen up and spend some money on pre production FSC....PLEASE!

Liverpool deserved to win at the end of the day
As a long seasoned Man Utd supporter I have become accustomed to these "blips" where we play poorly and then go on a run of 7 or 8 winning games and start to put some daylight between ourselves and the rest of the pack
The problem with Pool's win is that they usually go on and struggle to nail down a good run of games after the fact...Let's revisit this in mid november and look back at what transpired
As I said though, the Pool fully deserved to get the 3 points yesterday...but I have faith that United will start to get into the swing of things over the next 4 league and champions league games

I have used Justintv for a few years now...the streams are not of the highest quality all the time but it does just fine when there are no other ways to watch a game
Plus you get to watch the panels from BBC and RTE when they show the games....which is worth the hassle of buffering or the idiots on the chatbox.
Plus they will let the stream run longer sometimes and after the ireland game I got to watch the Apres Match skit and Top Gear :)
For all you Celtic fans out there...there is a Scottish fella on justintv with a channel called TicTalk and he shows all the Celtic/scotland games...but he also commentates on them himself!! LOL and he doesn't hold back either...his slaggins are fierce!!
