in Why Facebook is Failing Me on sarahintampa
Sarah,
Thanks for expressing EXACTLY the same problem I run into when using FaceBook.
I've seriously thogt about the (poor!) option of unfriending anyone who is not
a relative or a personal real world friened. But that sucks too much, as I'll miss some
cool stuff I see form my sorta-kinda virtual friends (and even some strangers)
I hope they listen to you.
Be well.

in Google’s Jaiku vs. Twitter? on Scobleizer
Jaiku was ahead of Twitter by at least 12 months. The current rumor is that when Googel completes converting Jaiku to run on AppEngine, it will be relaunched.
JaikuNext (my term) may also work really well with Android.

in Mozilla, Firefox & Data on John's Blog
If this data project is (as promised) purely "opt-in"
objections from those with deep concerns about the
effect new capability on their privacy
should be answered.
however, that segment of the Firefox user base
probably will not trust the promise that it will
not somehow be sneaked in under the covers.
My personal belief, for what it's worth, was
stated by Scott McNealy back in the day
to the effect: "there is no privacy on the internet,
get over it."
If you want privacy in this age of ultra super computers
CIA, FBI, MI6 and Patriot Act (in USA) virtually unlimited
ability to monitor conversations in any form, your
only option is to completely stop using the net, your mobile
phone and credit cards. plan to ride a bike,
pay in cash at stores you know do not hav survelliance
cameras (good luck with that).
your best bet would be to live in a jungle somwhere,
eating the food you gather and animals/fish you can snag.
Firefox Data when and if it happens will be
the LEAST of your problems.
Welcome to the 21st century.

in My Problems with Toluu on FPettit.com
I have tried Toluu a bit, but so far I remain mystified.
example: I imported by 400+ feeds via OPML from Google reader. I coninue adding (and ocassinally deleting) feeds at google. that means my Toluu data is out of date, (over time)
2: (I think) Toluu is NOT a feedreader. so if I discover an interesting feed, what do I do next? add it manually to my feedreader?
3. Toluu site needs a crisp "about" that explains the purpose of teh site, and lays out advantages. also needs a "how to use" so far it is a puzzle to me.
(I admit I have not invested much time so far).

in Different Types of Twitterers on Blonde 2.0 Blog
Cool post. You missed the "Obsessed videographer" Twitter type.
Loic Lemuer (sp?) of Seesmic and Scobilzer come to mind.
Not that there's anything wrong with that. ;)

in Ethiopian Food Glossary* on Ethiopian Eats
This is a very useful list, Thank you
My wife and I really enjoy Ethiopian food, but
our knowledge of the cusine is very limited.
How about a few recipes too?
We have eaten good Ethiopian in Washington D.C.
(Morgan Adams is the area, if I remember correctly).
The Red Sea on Fisrt St. in San Jose is OK. They have a decent
buffet at lunch that's popular.
I hope you get this blog rolling again.

in Ads or No on Chris Brogan
I think a decsion on
ad or no ads is not a huge deal one
way or the other.
Try it, you may like it. You won't know
without getting some real world experience.

in testing Utterz new webcam feature on banannie
Thanks for the tip. I had tried Utterz with voice, but this is the first Utterz video I've watched.
Agree: video quality is a lot better than Seesmic. I wonder why?

in The new A list on Scobleizer
Robert,
Your points are well taken. But
just because someone (Dave W.) is
your friend doesn't mean they are
incapable of doing something REALLY
dumb.
In this case, Dave W. has gone
to the mat against Roger C., a guy
who has been a strong and vocal supporter of Dave W when others
were less generous.
Being extremely smart and creative
(as Dave W absolutely is) doesn't
give them license to be vindictive.
I don't know Dave except through his writings. I see two Daves, as someone pointed out. One is your friend,
and he's a GREAT, witty and funny guy.
It's the "other" Dave people are jumping on.

I think the issue of why very fast upstream acess is VERY useful is neglected. See:
