in Enthusiasts keep pushing Smule’s Ocarina iPhone app to higher numbers on VentureBeat
I actually preferred iRecorder - more realistic and has an integrated learning mode.

I would humbly suggest that FREE “iRecorder” and “Blow” apps make much better use of the Smule technology.

Motion Alarm looks much better. It also has many more features such as sensitivity control, alarm activation delay and is also free!

in Cell Swapper on M. Brewer Group
Doesn't quite seem feasible for lease agreements.

From what I can see, Cellswapper.com is able to take advantage of a clause in wireless contracts that allows the owner to find another party to completely takeover the contract.

I don't think a similar clause exists in lease agreements, nor do I think that the average landlord would be happy about a contract swap without their approval.

CEO Dan wants more cash, huh?

Pete, cook him up some of your famous Cash-more web 2.0 consulting.

Then again, if you just want freedom from a carrier, use Cellswapper.com

My 2 cents.

Maybe u guys can sue digg.com for overloading your severs with "unwanted" traffic just like in that utube saga:

ToolsToLife looks ok but when is Mecanbe.com launching already? Seems like it's been stuck in beta forever!

in Wink Launches Social Network Search for MySpace, Bebo, LinkedIn on Mashable - The Social Media Guide
What about the legal aspects involved in all of this. Since Myspace and the other networks do not currently provide an API, I am assuming that Wink is simply spidering these guys. If so, how long until they get blocked or totally shut down?

Well I still think the system makes no sense for an API and is just plain burdensome.

Since FB is open to the public anyway now, why not give each 3rd party website their own FB account so that they can they display publically available data without the need to get an individual user to login?

Is it just me or is this Facebook API stuff extremely annoying for the end-user? Why can't these guys automate the Facebook login so a user doesn't have to fly over to Facebook to login and then get redirected back again? Gosh, this seems so Web 1.0.

Wow! With that kinda traffic I think he should just keep the domain and start a web 2.0 blog or something.

Pete - I dont think they are injecting affiliate codes into product links because they no feasible way of doing so. You see there are 2 basic models: the affiliate model and the spider the web for data model. These guys have selected the latter and are spidering 1000's of e-commerce sites, grabbing images, descriptions and ratings (which in of itself seems to be perplexing as to why this is permitted legally).

The affiliate option, which they have not chosen, does not require any web crawing because affiliate programs always provide all the above content without needing any fancy web crawling technology.

Given this, I dont see how they could possibly employ both models.

in Jellyfish Launches Radically Different Shopping Site on Mashable - The Social Media Guide
Mark, I love the design. And yes, great use of AJAX.

But I, as many others have already pointed out, fail to see the revolutionary nature of your business. It seems that you have just taken an Ebates model and just automated the commision negotiation process through the use of an "advertising auction".

Now although that may be quite convenient from your perspective (even though I doubt it will help you attain higher commissions than through the traditional negotiaton process), I fail to see how that makes any practical difference at all to the consumer. At the end of the day, cool technology and automated auctions aside, if you are not adding any value for the consumer, then why would they ever want to visit your site? (other than to see a really nice UI)
