Randy, I did some quick checking on you. I hadn't known that you have a history of opening and then closing website, usually after you've been caught in one lie or another. I hadn't known of your connection to the Exodus Int'l ex-gay group. The ex-gay ministries are notorious for their recidivism rates.
I'd say Matt Sanchez found himself a good home here. He'll need one once the Marine Corps kicks him to the curb. You are truly made for each other. But keep it at arm's length, fellas. Jesus is watching.

Randy, a couple things. First, while my posting was long it wasn't nearly as long as the interview itself. Second, my posting consisted of verified facts.
Your sympathies blind you to the truth. You are a Pharisee, protecting one of your own. It's funny, maddening and, as I look at today's politicized "Christians," all too predictable.

So much for certain Christians and the truth, eh Randy? Thanks for behaving exactly as predicted.

The eighth commandment prohibits lying. Unfortunately, Mr. Sanchez has been doing little but spreading lies in the past month. Folks, you are being played. You need to take a good, hard look at this man.
Let's start with his prostitution, ... ::: the rest deleted:::
note from Randy, William, get your own blog for posts a million miles long accusing Matt of all kinds of lying.

Such an error usually results from an error in copying the i386 folder. If your cd is a legitimate copy just try copying it again, if not, you possibly downloaded a bad copy :p

I imagine it is similar to MickeyMouse's post, just done automatically with a patch and a go between file :)
Still could be useful as it would save the time of manually renaming or doing javascript injection.

lol, share it? it's been a recipe for a few weeks:
http://www.tech-recipes.com/windows_tips1319.html
and it isn't really new, it's a method called javascript injection, anyone knowledgable about SQL or dare i say cracking/hacking probably knew about it or could have come up with it.
I had used this over 2 yrs ago when MS fixed the last bug i was explouting.. :)
But after installing my purchased copy i had no need for it, and filed it away in my list of things to remember...
This is not the kind of thing i share... ever... it's the kind of thing you should really figure out for yourself, but everyone needs a start when learning about injection, so why not start at the top :)

If you can use auto-updates, you probably don't require this fix. This only skips the step that actually does the check, even though the browser and software may not actually respond as it happened.
The code of the wep page is not actually changed.. just overloaded so this value of all is substituted for the false which would check for a valid cd key

in XP: How to bypass validation to download updates when the product key is invalid | Windows installation | Tech-Recipes on Tech-Recipes
yup, had a few requests on different occasions, although i don't usually advocate such things, but with Vista 6 months or so from being out i figured why not?
(I've had a legal copy of XP for almost 3 years now, and i use the bypass listed above just because it saves time when looking for specific updates)
The fact that MS leaves their javascript code embeded within each page instead of linking is not the smartest plan, though it is still readable the other way. What takes the cake is that the option to disable the key check is available... I don't know who's bright idea that was, lol, but i thank them.

Incase anyone is interested, on the update page if you view the source this is the line, being overloaded:
var g_sDisableWGACheck = "false";
WGA: Windows Genuine Advantage.
The value can be made True instead of all, but the odd time it does not overload the method when both types are boolean.

in XP: Erase a CD-RW Disc | Windows | Tech-Recipes on Tech-Recipes
Ok, i'm gonna take a stab at as many issues as possible:
(I've had the cd-rw won't erase issue.. even a claim that it was, but they wouldn't burn to it, also have the dvd-rw issue of erasing and burning)
As far as 700mb cd-rw and older cd writers.. this is a bad mix... especially if you are using adapted easy cd creator. Nero is your best bet for erasing these discs, but i have had some success with a combination or XP and it's DLA functions.
As odd as it seems, i say the opposite for dvd-rw. My best experiences have been with easy cd 5 platinum with the xp migration. It erases and burns my dvd-rw's perfectly every time!
and i have a drive that HP doesn't even admit to existing as far as drivers go.. lol (similar to the 300n now available)

It will likely be combined with essential services in the official release to stop such an easy bypass, but for long term it can effect your ability to get updates as your Vista will now be listed as unregistered as well.
Though it's not completly true, still need to wait for the release and Vista updates to try and beat it... been done for XP :)

in Copy Music from your iPod to your PC or MAC, for free | iPod | Tech-Recipes on Tech-Recipes
theoretically that should be the case... but for some reason (happened when i tested one of my friends iPods.. oops) The data can become corrupted on the iPod. It shouldn't affect the OS, i was able to remove and re-add the problematic files, and the second attempt worked just fine as it has with mine several times.
Could have been a freak accident or placement of the iPod.. but it can happen so i just make sure that no matter how quick someone reads this, they are aware of the possibility :)
I would imagine on the iPod Shuffle, with no moving parts, this would not be possible, similar to a usb key/flash drive, etc.

Sometimes i forget what i should explain and what i can assume...
If you are REALLY DOS illiterate you can load back into windows after installing DOS and merely use the laptop drive as a secondary drive and copy the I386 folder that way onto your laptop drive. This requires a few extra restarts, but could save time for those not familiar with DOS.
Otherwise the adventurous or semi-informed would be well off doing it how 'gadget' described.

My bad, guess i should have been more specific, I have always felt that the fall through on a switch pretty much makes the switch, without it, time saving is minimal to writting several if statements.
Thanks for the post, keeps me on my toes that much more, and lets me know that people are actually reading these things seriosusly!
I will get this recipe edited to include the correction :)

It is a complicated issue, which wsa sorted out through e-mail, but to anyone with the same issue, the drive must be a primary drive, and dos needs to be installed on the drive, simply copying files to a drive 'can' work in some instances, but in most cases the hard drive does not know that these files are an operating system, even though command.com is in the root of th drive.
In many cases copying files to a drive through external means can write over the boot sector reserved for such files as windows boot.ini, etc, and result in these errors, as the drive has been modified by windows to be logical as a secondary hard drive, which is why i suggest the adapter and connecting it to IDE channel 1, and the desktop computer will most definately assume it to be primary, as it should be the only hard drive attatched.
Just keep in mind having an OS installed and knowing the device is to boot, does not mean that your bios and/or harddrive knows this.

if your laptop has a floppy drive, this recipe may be a little too basic for you, you can get the 6 installation floppies for XP or XP pro, i believe they are available from the MS site, but if not i have a copy, which should work w/ any legit cd key. For more info leave a msg or e-mail william_a_wilson@hotmail.com

partitions may be possible, but they can cause issues with most progs. There are a few Linux based partitioning tools that may be ok, but for the most part windows, especially XP and progs such as partition magic. When running in wnidows and the laptop drive connected as well and not on it's own, these programs assume the drive is a storage drive, even if you make the settings for a boot drive, it will be made ntfs, and thus DOS cannot run on it. There are many drivers for reading ntfs from DOS but none that allow DOS to run on ntfs that i know of.
I hope this answers your question.

Yes i realize that i answered my own post, but i have seen this question quite often, and for less than $30 for the laptop to IDE conversion part, all your problems can be solved, as DOS 7.10 and smartdrv are free.

yes, you must format to FAT32, you can always switch it to ntfs later, with a prog such as partition magic. I installed xp on my latitude csx (no cd or floppy drive) with the following steps:
- put the harddrive into desktop PC (buy part, suggested: www.tigerdirect.ca)
- Format Drive to FAT32
- Copy I386 folder from WinXP cd onto the drive
- put smartdrv.exe on drive
- install dos 7.10 on drive
- put the harddrive back in the laptop
- load dos
- run smartdrv.exe (speeds up dos transers)
- run C:I386winnt.exe
- let sit, even if it appears to stall
- that's it
you will now have dos and windows on the drive, you can remove dos, or leave it, it is up to you!!

I have a Dell Latitude csx, with a minimal setup (no floppy, no cd) The closest i got to installing was with dos on the c: partition and a copy of the xp cd on d:. When dos loads i run the winnt.exe from the cd and it starts copying files, but it freezes after several files are copied. If i restart the laptop, it loads the proper setup, but after pressing enter, it says that it cannot find the EULA (End User License Agreement). If anyone has any ideas on:
1) how to install from the harddrive only
2) why setup freezes
3) why setup cannot find EULA
4) where i could get an external floppy drive that is type 1 or 2, and not USB
it would be greatly appreciated!!!!
I have tried all ideas i have found, including bootable XP cd, copying i386 folder, and using a winnt.sif file to try and bypass the EULA.
