Ubuntu is great, it's a shame it's not stable on your system.

By the way, I've been reading your blog for a while now and admiring how well you manage to keep it updated - keep up the good posts.

in OCaml for the recovering Java programmer, part 1: objects and subtyping on Skydeck Blog
Good article.

As someone who is learning ocaml after learning imperative programming (mostly in Java), I am still not really comfortable with the idea of duck typing in a statically typed language, but the idea is growing on me, and this article helped with that.

"User generated content"? I fail to see how this is going to work with adult content. Do they really expect users to "generate" their own porn?

A little correction - the video itself was created for a PBS documentary years ago. The "Rational Response Squad" (aka Brian Sapient) simply posted the video.

Also, I think calling Uri Geller a spoon bending psychic is a bit outdated; it seems that few people take his supposed psychic abilities seriously anymore.

Pete Cashmore Wait, are you saying that Uri can't really bend spoons with his mind?? ;)

Good catch. It explains how such a bug should occur -- after all, for it to even let a male choose lesbian would be a bug. No conspiracy here, just a coding issue.

I'm all for freedom of speech and less censorship, but this is just giving the killer what he wanted. Why send the message to people that if you want to get your message out, a mass killing will do the trick? What benefit does anyone get from this footage being seen by anyone other than the FBI?

Sounds like the swf was used to execute javascript on the page? If this is the case, is there even a workaround that myspace could use? I remember a while ago someone managed to execute Javascript through a CSS file that made everyone his friend who viewed his profile, and everyone who visited their profile, etc.
