Ahh, crap. I'm breaking all of those rules. *toes crossed*

Well, #2 varies by circumstance. The Wreck & Salvage crew sees each other maybe twice a year at best, but we're all so engaged in what we're doing that it doesn't matter. It's hard to find that kind of engagement from some employee you find on craigslist.

"With Twincy, we become a magical kingdom! We're not simply a pair of large metro areas. We are a region that conjures up visions of unicorns dancing with kittens hanging in there."
Dammit. You've almost managed to convince me there *could* be a wonderful eternal springtime place called Twincy. Everyone prances about with tiny Belle and Sebastian pixies, sneezing and plucking out fey tunes with a hint of sadness that in fact... make you even more happy.
I just don't think it works for our city - unless it's in animated form. If we're talking some sort of otaku anime twinn'd cities, let's talk.

Andrew, I'm so sorry about your dad. You fought your best to keep him around a little longer, and I'm sure you spent that time with him well. I feel honored to have had a glimpse of all he has fought for and accomplished in this world.

I don't get why they'd do that... do they have advertising targeted to specific countries? (Not that that would make it excusable, but at least it would make some kind of sense.)

That is so amazingly spot-on, and I've never heard anyone put it quite like that. Brilliant.
Gary, if you have a chance check out the documentary I made about blogs - I think you might dig it: Blogumentary

I'm glad Thomas Hawk weighed in here.
That pretty much clears the air.
I pilfer Google Images like crazy for some episodes of Vlog Santa, usually not paying any attention where they come from, since I consider it an artistic/editorial use.
Where it gets tricky though - I'm hosting videos on Revver, so there is potential for ad income. Granted, I've never offset the amount of time, etc. so it's at best "hobby income."
Likewise, if this video promotes Richter Scales, cd sales, other paid work, etc. than the video is really serving as a marketing tool.
Damn these gray areas.

To me, the most exciting thing about online video is how anyone with a good idea can find an audience and be successful *without* the old gatekeepers. It's a magnificent disruption.
What does the NewTeeVee conference seemed focus on? The old gatekeepers.
No thanks.

Hmm, I'll have to check that out. I've been on the low light point-n-shoot search as well.
We just got a Lumix TZ3 which I wasn't initially happy with, but it's good for zooming in on birds (the reason I bought it for Lori) and the widescreen video quality is actually amazing if there's enough light.
