It seems to have become popular, so you should be seeing a great deal of traffic right now. Be sure you're ready for it... if your bandwidth is close to running out you can submit a support ticket to Byet and they will kindly add more.

Another short but insightful post, I'm linking to it... you took quite a bit more time than I did to present your opinion in depth without adding filler, which is why I've grown to really enjoy reading this blog. Time is definitely something I've grown to question the value of after working at blogging for several months and not seeing a dime for it, but you are entirely right in saying that, if someone works hard, they deserve to be paid.

Don't worry about the audience... it will come with time as you are building up quite a good portfolio of posts here.

in Becoming a Online Movie Star on 3xw.us Forum
I don't know who any of those three people are, guess I'm out of touch. One link that I think you should mention, though, is Revver, because they pay you well for ads in popular videos. I read a blog by someone who makes a lot of money from a few short online videos, and their main revenue stream was Revver, over AdSense, blip.tv, etc...

Couldn't tell you why that is happening... perhaps you should write to support, they might appreciate the feedback.

Interesting... although there's really not much value to admitting you're wrong unless people actually know who you are :).

Wow, you've really expanded that sidebar. I'm surprised to find that the content is only a little constrained though. The considerations you're talking about for this design are in fact very similar to the ones that I am trying to implement in mine.

Picnik is one of my favorite online image editors... although in my experience they all have different feature sets. PhotoFlexer is also good.

Digitalbrian I was just playing with Photoflexer, for some odd reason the site keeps closing my browser every time I load a picture, it looks pretty cool though.

in CNN Reports New World-Record $10 Million Domain Sale on DotSauce Magazine
I'm surprised by the way these rank, the prices within this list of good domains seem to be a little arbitrary. Any idea why Fund.com is only $50 below the 10,000,000 mark?

in The Myth Called Hacker on 3xw.us Forum
Interesting article... I feel that the word hacker does get thrown around a lot, it seemed to be in fashion in the 1990s. You're right in saying that malware is by far the greater threat than some mean-spirited kid on what looks like a PC-AT deleting all your word documents :)

I certainly didn't so much could happen in the world of domains. Thanks for putting all these links together Mark, reading your blog has been very enlightening :).

Interesting software, looks very easy to install. The fact that it includes ratings and credentials suggests you could use this as a way to make money with freelance tech support, also.

Dammit Brian, I was just about to post about this :P. Now I'll have to spend eight minutes coming up with a topic for a pointless 400 word rant!

Interesting, I've heard that they are drawing closer to following web standards. Let's hope that is the truth.

digitalbrian I think you are able to select which standards to follow on a site to site basis with this release.

in Ink cost $8000 per gallon? on 3xw.us Forum
While ink is always expensive, I think in large part it depends on the type of printer you have. HP printers tend to use cartridges with more electronics in them I believe, which makes them more expensive, while the old Epson stylus carts cost about $8 a piece. I usually get cartridges from Databazaar.com, they are generic but are very reasonably priced and work well.

Refills are also very nice, and I think you can take your cartridges to Walgreens and have them done very quickly. I've also seen very cheap refill kits, some at the dollar store, but I would be a little careful with those :)

digitalbrian But how many ml does the little Epson cartridges contain? no doubt refills is the way to go.

in Senate “Anti-Phishing” Bill Threatens Domain Owners and Small Business on DotSauce Magazine
Wow, an end to private WHOIS, that's scary. Call me crazy, but it seems like the courts can already get a subpoena for that information if they need to prosecute unlawful activity.

in Your online office is now open sir! on 3xw.us Forum
Given my past experience with both MS office and MSN, I would strongly recommend you go with Google Docs instead. Google has a "don't be evil" policy which keeps them from doing things like deleting peoples' entire email accounts for no reason (like Hotmail did a while ago).

in Recycling ending in Landfills on 3xw.us Forum
Hmm, sounds like a very dishonest practice, and burning the trash - what could possibly be worse for the environment. If we can't trust the recycling centers to be good for the ecology, who can we trust?

digitalbrian's picture
digitalbrian I think the problem is that the world has too much trash, back then we sorted everything by hand, now I am sure it is machines so maybe now it is better.
digitalbrian's picture
digitalbrian We used to sort the recycling in hand, now they probably use machines, but we have to think rational here, if they release a statement saying "We only have the capacity to reuse about 30% of all recycling collected" would that stop people from even trying? and 30% recycled is much better than nothing right?

in WordPress Shopping Cart: Fully Functional Market Theme on DotSauce Magazine
I'm a big fan of this trend toward functional themes, and this one looks particularly nice. When compared to a CMS, blog software seems to be more geared to content that gets updated often, and it is nice to see WordPress's capabilities expanded.

Wow you're really posting a lot, if you responded to comments there could be a real group of visitors here :). I've ever used a site translator for myself, if you put one sentence in as Engllish, translate it to Chinese, then back to English it comes out all wrong.

in Staples over charging elderly for computer repair! on 3xw.us Forum
That's pretty terrible. I can see why you would have learned how to cause the errors though, because these are probably things that people have actually done to their machines )I'm sure you're familiar with Computer Stupidities). I've often found that getting anything repaired at Staples/Best Buy/Office Depot is more trouble than it's worth.

Nice new template, I like how you've installed Snap Shots.

in Publishers: How To Bypass Ad Blocking Software on DotSauce Magazine
Interesting post... I never knew how AdBLock worked, so I just assumed it was unbeatable :). You're right about the smart advertising, people are getting better at this and I haven't been bothered by most ads in a while. That's why I never felt the need or desire to insall AdBlock, even though some people I work with have pressured me to do so.

I'm surprised they're even bothering to crack down on spam anymore. Sure it's a pain, but it's a very 90's nuisance and is mostly rendered harmless by email filters.
