I am from Clovis, NM. How would you go about getting someone to help our community? We are ran by a committee of fifty. Things are going on that are not ethical, in my opinion, (I may be wrong), but Football is something the wealthy citizens are investing in, by doubling the property value. We have a church that is over building millions of dollars. You see where the minister lives in his tax free paid by the church home. We are getting artificial turf, spending alot of money on the school system, any student that plays, (you only get to play if you are wealthy) should get in trouble it is overlooked, blaming the victims. We are stuffing students in one high school because of the football legacy. The DA is handing out prison terms to the un-wealthy, our public defenders office does nothing except what the DA says, you might as well defend your self. Our County Treasure was arrested on felony charges, involving $19,000 missing dollars, her punishment, 12 months unsupervised probation. It hasn't been very long since $4mil dollars were embezzled. Our mayor is owner of the largest Real estate company, our property's value has doubled in the last 6 years due to the politics over the air force base. Her company has built brand new homes, with ungodly price tags. The military folks that will be coming here are very upset about the property value. There are only few business' that pay more than minimum wage. We lower and middle income are getting poorer and prison time, and the rich is getting richer and more corrupt . What can a citizen do to stand up for our rights without being black walled. It is sad when you grow up in town that has turned ugly. I am tired of having to except what is going on here. Is moving the answer?

Frank - Father's day is always emotional. My dad's been gone since 1987. In my dreams, like yours, he's just there, like he should be, like he always was. I think the hardest part for me is that he never knew my kids or sadder yet that my kids never knew him. I think of Howard on this day too. But today, instead of being sad I'm going to celebrate all the father's that went before and all the great ones that are here with us still. So to you, David and all the dad's out there HAPPY FATHER'S day.

As a black woman who grew up in the Chicagoland area (well, NW Indiana actually), lived in Chicago for nearly a decade, and was a active member of Trinity United Church of Christ, I say BRAVO!



I've really had enough of the recent glut of white talking heads analyzing black people and black culture, based on little or no knowledge.

I will not vote for Hillary Clinton if she is the Democratic nominee. It has taken me a long time to get to this point. But I cannot, in good conscience, reward what she has done to black people, the Democratic Party and the progressive agenda. I have never not voted for the Democratic presidential candidate, so this has been hard for me. I am liberal in my values. I do not want to see John McCain win and will not vote for him either. I will; however, look very closely at Ralph Nader or write in a presidential candidate. Hillary Clinton is a candidate who will lie, distort, play dirty and race bait to win. If I want treatment like that I might as well be a Republican.

You know, I have said over the last several months that I would support the Dem candidate, whoever it was. In fact, I said it on my blog today. But it doesn't feel right. I have lost all respect for the Clintons. Their behavior ought not be rewarded. But I also worry about having a Republican, even an allegedly liberal one, in the White House. I worry about the war. I worry about my reproductive rights. This election has me so torn, i really don't know what to do.

Dang, this is high tech Jenga meets "Don't Break the Ice". Will it replace Sodoku as the new family "I can do it faster than you game"?
