in Goldman Sachs Principal Transactions Update: Collapse In Program Trading Volume on Zero Hedge
I understand that he has written about this before. That's why I said "...you keep writing about..."
I'm just not as well versed in finance as you may be. So I'm trying to understand what this all means. More specifically.
1) What does the "ratio of principal to facilitation/agency" mean? Why is it significant?
2) Why is it significant that Goldman has been trading less and less each week? Shouldn't this mean they're not propping up the market as much each week?
3) "And as computers now simply issue forced stock recall orders to each other, painting the tape wet with manipulative intent and volume spikes into the last 20 minutes of trading every day, their human creators are left on the sidelines, trying to outshout each other as to the reason for why the market keeps rising while the economy keeps tumbling."
How is it possible for computers to just pump up the share prices? I don't get it.

NQ and ES were ripe for a pump at the end of the day after a mostly sideways day. Great action for a Friday and setup for the Sunday night Monday ramp.

I just want to make sure I understand what you keep writing about.
For those of us who aren't as well versed in what NYSE Program trading is or what role the computers you mentioned play in this trading program.... in "laymans" terms if you will.... is your conclusion that the Fed is artificially buying up S&P stock to artificially prop up the market?
What role does Goldman have in this?

I had the same questions... this is the closest I've come to a simple explanation of these terms:
"Program, or portfolio, trades are defined as those involving 15 or more stocks valued at more than $1 million. There are two kinds: agency, where brokers work baskets for a commission, or the buyside handles the order itself; and principal, where a broker commits capital and takes on the client's risk at a predetermined price. Agency trades are the most popular, constituting roughly 75 percent of all executed programs. "

If (as of 2007) agency trades were 75% of the average... it definitely looks very suspicious that these firms are placing so many trades with their own capital.

Here - I'll make it simple for ya - Fed gives TARP/freshly-printed money to GS to go pump stocks.
Despite all the highfalutin names, designations and terminology all these guys are is just a bunch of bloody crooks and thieves. Once you get that into your head, the rest is easy.

in Animoto Beats Slide at Their Own Game on AllFacebook
The problem is it auto-notifies random friends by declaring them as being "tagged' in the photo. I just made a video and I didn't tag any of my friends, yet the app sent out notifications to 10 random friends that they had been tagged by me.
If you look at the forum, you'll see user comments like:
"Exactly. I uncheck all but the required box and I was VERY confused when I saw that I has notified about 30 of my friends. VERY RUDE and I am NOT impressed."
So if they're beating Slide at any game, it's the SPAM game.
Nice to see a quality app made...not so nice to see it so spammy and auto-notifying all your friends that you don't even tag. If I wanted to sent notifications or invites I would.
