I might consider using this tool. I've purposely avoided MLM folks, simply because I didn't want to read their money making tweets at the expense of all else. However, if I can use my expanding Twitter network to promote my sites, then I may need to rethink my position.

Vlad, I used it on my Auto Trends blog although I must admit I haven't updated it in awhile, therefore it may not always load properly. Regardless, it is one of the niftiest tools you can use to give your blog a professional look, one that few others seem to be using.

in Outsource Your Press Release To A Pro on Go Beyond MLS
One warning about press release submissions sites: they are a dime a dozen. Lots of free ones out there, but I find that it is worth submitting to a paid site especially one where releases are picked up by Google News.

I probably should take C.S. Lewis' advice and let someone tell me the news instead of reading it. I read The Wall Street Journal and sometimes the news is quite depressing. Still, I find essential stuff, news I won't find anywhere else at least in a timely fashion.
Agreed, Twitter is an excellent place for breaking news.

I like using a good balance of internal link building with external links, the latter not always to sites that I control. I use trackbacks to see where my links go and keep an eye on my blog comments to see who is tracking my posts.

Vlad, thanks for the information about the Super Duper version of the WP Cache plugin. I didn't even know that it existed. I'll be checking it out because I think that it is something I could use. Many thanks!

in Qualities You Must Find In Your Web Hosting Company on Everything Online
I've had mixed success with PowWeb over the five years I've used them. When Enterprise purchased them a few years back, service was horrible. But, they've managed to improve to the point where they are probably on par with the average provider. I think I would use Bluehost if I were to build a new site today.

Hi,
Thanks for the recommendations. I haven't heard of PowWeb but Bluehost is surely a common choice among webmasters. Bluehost is more expensive than others though but I heard the service is excellent.

in louisgray.com: The Time is Right to Kill Google (If They Don’t Kill Themselves First) on louisgray.com
I don't see Google going away, missteps or not. The company is too entrenched to simply disappear, but challenges from start ups who launch niche platforms could undermine certain sectors of its business.

We share similar goals for 2009, Vlad! I'm planning to redouble my efforts to reconnect with people this year and share the link love wherever and whenever I can, but within reason. I get so caught up in writing, that I seem to miss the social side of the internet!

This is getting very interesting.
Ben, I don't know you and I cannot say I know Vlad extremely well, but when you buy the URL containing someone's name, such as Vlad Zablotskyy, you do nothing to instill confidence in people that your plans are upright.
If you have a beef with someone, why not settle amongst yourselves? I can't see how this move benefits anyone.

Good stuff, especially the advice in the very first point about going outside of your passion circle.
Throwing a wide net means connecting with a lot of people who have shared interests. I regularly visit sites outside of my usual neighborhoods, enjoying the difference reference points that people draw from.

Vlad, thank you so much for mentioned Word Journey.
I also appreciate your candidness and understanding of what is really going on: America wanted a "king" and much like Israel desired one and got Saul, we're ending up with Barack.
May this event galvanize people everywhere to intercede for our nation and pray that God would turn Obama's heart.

Thanks Matt,
You know what really bothers me about this election? The propaganda machine of the liberal media. Back in the Soviet Union we have similar media, that constantly deified communist leaders and deionized America and countries that were not embracing socialist/communist philosophy.
To me there was a sticking similarity.

What an amazing testimony, I certainly hope that she'll be heard by people who will really consider what Obama is advocating, potentially sending thousands of more unborn children to their death. What a humble, God-seeking woman too.

in Starbucks: Inflation and Devaluation of a Brand on The Marketing Technology Blog
What a good story -- something chain store operators should make required reading for their employees.
I never acquired a taste for Starbucks, preferring to plunk down a $1.50 for a large cup of Panera Bread's light roast coffee. Also, Panera never charges for internet access, making their stores the ideal place to hang out.
Is Panera perfect? Nope. Just like Starbucks they go through frequent employee and management changes with quality levels varying from day to day.
I guess that is why I prefer to make and drink my coffee at home.

Actually, I think the word "cuil" should be translated as "fail." Seriously, the "show" that this search engine put on this past week was a bomb, something I doubt they'll be able to amend with ease. Some of those unrelated photographs were quite odd, making me wonder if the mistakes were done on purpose.

Not a good start, that's for sure. You would think that Cuil would do a trial run without everyone looking at the site. I can't seem to get the navigation bar to work for me. Let's hope that these matters are growing pains only.

in The Fallacy Of Subscriber Only Content On Blogs on Andy Beard - Internet Business Systems Discussion
I'm not sure what some people are thinking of when they come up with schemes like this one. I'm absolutely thrilled when people come to my blogs, not that I like traffic, because they are searching for information and have come across something of value on my site. Why would I want to hide anything? To charge a fee? Please, there are other ways to monetize a blog then this method.
Andy Beard
I have no problems with fee based membership sites hanging off of blogs, in fact I strongly encourage it, but you then don't have the content appearing on other sites, but not your own. It doesn't appear in search, or you let Google through the paywall, and cloak humans like the newspapers or Webmaster World.
The problem are the subscriber only RSS feeds.

Resumes will be dead within five to ten years, with blogs being the electronic resume of choice to show to prospective employers. Referrals rule, however -- the right person opening the door can be truly golden.

Blogs and social networking can change the landscape of how we hire. I agree 100% that being able to look at someone through a medium like a blog it is 10x better then a resume.

By the way, you can make a killing with with press releases for automotive industry.... Just an idea. As alway, pleasure to have you pay a visit!
