Here's a legitimate query: Why not end the estate tax? Wouldn't that be simpler and just a little more honest than trying to bilk clients out of their money in an attempt to avoid the tax? I mean, gee whiz, only 67% of the country support doing away with the darned thing. Maybe we could stop pretending to represent our clients and actually do it Thanks for less than nothing.

From my perspective: .4 may have improved demos and the median age, but in terms of overall numbers it's still pretty bad - particularly for the money GSN paid for it.

As some may recall, back in the "old days" of the network, the...Fantastic 4 originals (Whammy!, Friend or Foe, Russian Roulette, and Lingo) all did AT LEAST a .6 to .8 in HH numbers when new, and still around a .4 even after several rerun cycles.

.4 for a show GSN paid the amount they did (Relative to total amount taken in) is pretty bad, regardless the spin

I've always said the biggest roadblock to RDF adoption isn't it's semantics, but it's syntax. As soon as we agree on 1) a simple, validatable XML format and 2) a simple text format (yes, N3 exists, but it's neither a standard nor free of the ':' character) we'll be rocking.

Until we're able to have metadata about tags (as this post suggests) then tags are just keywords. Remeber HTML meta keywords anyone? :)

Why?

Because some of your potential new and existing clients (the very network access which part of the 6% I imagine is appropriated to cultivating and maintaining) will have seen it.

Isn't that enough cause? The ignorant masses will be armed with a 60-minute-ish slant on the issue, and will probably look to you for balance and context. But you will be equipped only with, "...honestly, I don't care..." They may want to hear how you defend your position, your commission, and how you might have responded to the question to which the realtor in the piece had no answer. They may just want to hear your confidence in any response, provided it isn't stained with an obvious trace hubris or arrogance.

Could you really assume that avoiding a story directly related to your livelihood (from one of the premiere news sources in the country) will somehow strengthen your stance, or render the story less relevant? Didn't some wise man once pronounce "know thine enemy as thyself"?

Do you really not care about seeing first hand how this piece came across -- to you; how the perception of this piece will affect you, your circle of influence and your business? Nah.

In my collegiate and professional tenure, when presented with defending or advocating one of many sides, I found it most helpful (and even necessary) to educate myself on all sides, however difficult it may have been to know them intimately; perhaps the r/e industry, as is too often the case, is immune to this tactful and comprehensive approach.

Just watch it!

From a technical perspective your observation seems reasonable, but I think its the fundamentals that will ultimately drive the financials to a bottom. I fear another "Indymac"-like story is inevitable, and with Fannie/Freddie potentilaly taking up $5T and Indy taking up 10% of the FDIC's reserves... where's the rest of the dough going to come from? Besides, even if the mess we got into so far somehow gets contained, what about all the imminent option-arm, alt a, and prime loan resets that haven't even popped yet and therefore are not even reflected on anyone's books? And, compared to "subprime" this part of the iceberg represents the majority of paper written over last five years. Libor can't stay down forever with all the inflationary pressure. All the beaurocrats are issuing new restrctions that curtail trading and liquidity... three years to late... and everyone passes the same rhetoric about how monetary policy will be loosened, not tighened if ever another depression started loom. Our liquidity is as tight as it gets, and the cash we print will ruin an already devalued dollar. Throw in oil, and Houston, are you seriously thinking we don't have a problem. I am an ignorant fool, but it scares me how plainly obvious a 40-45 vix spike seems likley by aug/sep.

If politicians balanced their own checkbooks the way they balance the taxpayers', they'd be conducting the business of state from rescue missions.

The baby boom debacle was glaringly obvious years ago (and I recall that the Social Security Administration was several trillion dollars in debt over 20 years ago), yet Congress did nothing but expand entitlements they had to know they couldn't pay for, but what the heck: The funding didn't come out of their own checking accounts, anyway, and their irresponsible disbursements got them votes.

ich hatte ebenfalls den 2001er fehler. auch mit quickpqn in einer virtualisierten win-umgebung funzte nichts, da eine verbindung im dfu-mode mit einer fehlermeldung quittiert wurde.
bislang gingen die meinungen ja dahin, dass eine änderung an itunes die ursache hierfür sei. fehler in virtualisierten win-umgebungen wurden akzeptiert, da quickpwn dafür ja nicht gemacht sein soll.
ich habe jedoch eine andere vermutung. bei den neuen macbooks fällt auf, dass die usb-ports schneller sind, als herkömmliche ports, also die in den alten macbooks verbauten. also dachte ich mir, dass es vielleicht damit zusammenhängt und das devteam möglicherweise einen weg gewählt hat, der sich mit dem neuen port nicht verträgt.
wie also die ports bei den neuen macbooks umgehen?

die lösung, zumindest bei mir, war recht einfach. einfach ein usb-hub dazwischenhängen und dann das ganze unter mac os in einer virtualisierten windows-umgebung probieren.
von da an war das einbinden eines iphones im dfu-mode kein problem mehr.
was mich interessieren würde, funktioniert dies auch unter mac os?
vielleicht kann das ja mal jemand austesten.

hulu (hollywood) missed the point.. again. People download episodes for two reasons: it's better quality than tivo, and it's commercial free.

If one could fast forward though hulu commercials it might be more tolerable.

That they disallow various media streaming devices flies in the face of the nature of BROADCAST media.

As it is they provide an entertaining challenge to circumvent the ads. Thanks for that hulu.
