The thing about tabatas that you didn't mention; while working on the 20 second/ 10 thing you want to try to increase your reps each set. So if the first set you do 20 swings, you want to try and do 21 in the 20 seconds second time around. Then 22... etc. At the end of the tabata should be doing 28 swing.

deb’s last blog post..HOT By BLOGHER

Re: 6 Meals A Day

Yep. Eating 6 or more times a day is part of how I lost the weight. (40# and maintaining). It was difficult to start and keep the schedule, now I just know that it's been a few hours and find something.

Of course, for me the big huge secret to my success was adding strength training to my routine. Made and keeps me the mostly-lean gal that I am today.

Re: The space between Twitter and FriendFeed (Scripting News)

Oddly, a lot of what you describe as the bridge between twitter and FF is how I use Facebook. Share links that show up with more information, including photos. Show photos and videos. Share with my friends. And it seems more easily organized than FF.

Re: My social map is totally decentralized but I want it back on my blog

While perhaps not a problem for you, one reason that I must dramatically pare down the appearance and presence on my own blogs is that I still have readers with very old technology. Operating systems 3 generations old and the original browsers (it works just fine for most things, I just don't do anything all that fancy.) I have friends still on dial up.
Feeding all this data through my blog means that I lose touch with people. It's part of the digital divide. At the moment I would like to centralize, but the trade off still hasn't tipped to make it easy for my followers.
An the challenges of being an age on the other side of the divide.

Re: Music has gone so far downhill in the past 30 years

Wish I remembered the name of my favorite "small time" rock band from that era. Had electric violin. Did a song about the Ancient Mariner. But I can't recall.

Re: Trimming down…

Almost 2 years ago, I KNEW I needed to trim down. A woman "of a certain age" hormonal changes had packed on the pounds.
I joined 24 Hour Fitness during their very first Biggest Loser Special, connected with a great trainer, fell in love with weight training, and lost 1/4 of my body (42# of fat). I'm a new woman. And I've gone from looking my age to looking about 15 years younger

I still watch what I eat, exercise 3-4 days a week (1-1/2 hours each time). I have inspired a number of women to go and do the same.

Re: Body Remixes of Daft Punk’s “Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger”

Darn you, Scott! Didn't know I should. I use it mostly to push content.. as the vids come so quickly. One thing I'd love is the ability to thread conversations...

I did do a seesmic before my first cuppa, does that count as being comfortable and fun?

Re: The Brain Pain: Get Yer Squeeze On

howdy. found you on twitter, btw.

I vote you head to your local pharmacy and search for a neti pot. I would second the Card recommendation.

Another series (still scifi) worth reading for it's scope and quality is the MARS series by Kim Stanley Robinson.

While I devoured Eat, Pray, Love.. I never recommend it without knowing more about the person. And I think you might find the author's bouts self-centered whining way too annoying.

Re: The 10 rules of Twitter (and how I break every one)

The discussion between you and creative sage (and i'm sure others) was fascinating. Coming home from Christine Kane's concert to read it was a great way to end the night.

I live-twittered Bay to Breakers, I've read others twitters of events. I think they're great. I adore the conversations on twitter because they happen in real time AND publicly. When else has that opportunity existed?

So you post lots of links. It's my choice to click through or pass them up. I'm an adult. I can think for myself.

And what is that follow 1 for every 10 stupid rule?

Re: Hanging out with the other 99%

Admitted to my OLLI writing workshop folk that I blog many of our exercises. they still think blogs are for news, politics or techies only. The idea of individuals using the technology for every day things was hard to grasp.

Still can't get anyone to understand Twitter so it makes sense.

Re: Mmmmm . . . I can see tacking those rice bags over the wrists in gloves or gauntlets, then freezing them or zapping them to treat that constant ache from too much computerizing/knitting/weight training.

Hmm..

Re: A Blogher Giveaway!
