I would hug Todd, but I'm afraid I'd knock his hat off his head. Have you ever done that? Don't. He gets really upset. (j/k Todd, ahahaaa)

in Largest Tweetup – My Thoughts on The Broad Brush
I hesitate to criticize here - ANYTHING happening at McGurk's is a good thing, discussion over!
However, the DM I received from @Rex7, inviting me to the Tweetup, was the first interaction I had EVER had with him. He doesn't really interact with any of his followers. He tweets lots of interesting links, but never really talks with anyone. Go check his tweetstream - the "@" replies are few and far between.
Having a large follower list is not a bad thing, per se (wink wink), but real interaction is a very good thing, IMHO.

in 15 Quick Pitch Tips for Kick Ass Presentations on Instigator Blog
#3 is a tough one to live by. Sometimes, humility has me inserting "I think" or "I believe" into my speech, and it's probably too wimpy for presentations.
I am disappointed at how often I say "ummmm." I need to cut that out.

in Ashton Kutcher might be King of Twitter, but I’m a Jester on The Broad Brush
I loved the live video of him popping the champagne. I don't know how to explain it, but it truly seemed like something worth celebrating, at least for him. He was truly thrilled to be the first to 1mil.

Though I appreciate the moniker, I'll pass on the job my friend. :)
If nothing else, he enjoyed himself. Why should we rob him of that? Good point.

Killer video - the location you used brings so much to the table. Not a fan of Seth Godin lol you kinda lost me there. But a really great video and a good message.

in Why Facebook has never listened and why it definitely won’t start now on Scobleizer
I get what you're saying Robert, and I agree. There's gold wrapped up in the 175MM accounts, and perhaps Mark is looking to mine it.
However, the new Facebook is simply more difficult to navigate than the old one. And I believe this to be so even after taking time to get to know it. I am not confident that, in its present form, people will find it easy enough to use to mine it for the information you are citing (friends' restaurant reviews, etc).
No, the users won't leave. But they might use FB less - I know quite a few people that are now using it less, strictly due to the recent changes. This equates to less data to mine, and that's a huge problem for FB.

in Gary Vaynerchuk - You can have both….Jobs. Way to many people out... on Gary Vaynerchuk
Job that is unfulfilling = gets you down. Makes you tired. But you're right, if you want it bad enough, you have to work while your friends are at the bar or watching some crappy tv show. But also, I think there are some true workhorses that really want to work 18 hours a day on their dream instead of just 8.

;-)
