in The Technorati 100 Not So Hot? on Marketing Pilgrim
Whoa whoa, people care about Technorati? News to me. They've been funded millions countless times and have no real innovation to prove for it. =/
When the top 100 was initially put out I was on there for months, with a peak of slot 32 or so. Traffic-wise Technorati doesn't send much of anything. The top 100 list has become nothing more than a contest to see who can do a better job begging their readers to favorite them, with the exception of the top 30 or so that are quality bloggers.

in I love Flickr… on Scobleizer
@met - if you want value, the Nikon D40 is stunning. Don't bother with the Sony Alpha, a friend has it regrets purchasing it. I am looking forward to a Nikon D80 shortly, but the Canon XTi is a similarly powerful and full-featured camera.

Any idea how many photos the top flickr user has uploaded? I can't imagine that you're too far off. The problem is that you can't know for sure as many people have private photos. I'm a tad bit over 6k.

in Snipshot vs. Picnik: War of the Online Photo Editors on theory.isthereason
Like you, I've been using Snipshot for a longtime and recently discovered Picnik.. which I think has a great interface and more features. I find myself using picnik just because of how much better the interface looks, even though its a tad bit slower.

Vista via Boot Camp works flawlessly for me on my 24-inch iMac. Sound, ethernet, wifi, bluetooth, the works. I am very pleased. I blogged about my experience, click my name to see.

in Create flickr-like Editing Fields Using AJAX & CSS on Dustin Bachrach Blog
Great article Dustin. I read something similar on 15 days (http://15daysofjquery.com/) a long time ago but this is more comprehensive. I am definitely planning on integrating such capability in my upcoming web app. I just skimmed through it as I have to get some sleep before classes startup tomorrow, but does it degrade gracefully if the user is running with JS disabled, ie, it won't mess something else up? Seems like it does.

Why aren't there any Redbox locations within Atlanta, they are all outside the loop.. If you put a few near Georgia Tech campus, you'll be raking it in.

in Don’t send bloggers stuff for free unless it’s good on Scobleizer
I read a pretty comprehensive article somewhere recently that stated how it's beneficial for the company to give out free products to people (bloggers) with a voice, regardless of what they have to say. Similarly, Sprint gave me a phone for their past Ambassador program and I slammed them pretty hard, but I still they they benefited from all my readers knowing about their new program/phone.

Interesting pseudo-hack Ian. Favoritethingz looks pretty unique.. if only their flash badge was design a little better. Hovering just about anywhere triggers something to pop out at you.

Thanks for the kind words Ian. People seem to be responding well to the blog.. it was only until this afternoon that I found out there were many little bugs to be fixed... the largest being that the sidebar would magically disappear, sometimes, in IE6.

in Cornell’s Internet = Super Fast on Elliott Back's Blog
Wow, Cornell's internet is slow. Depending on what dorm you live in at Georgia Tech, you can expect 30 to 65 megabits down and anywhere from 3 to 5 megabits up.
