Just tell you to use another video site. So far it has been granted to you absolutely free. A lot of your revenue has been generated due to being able to embed said videos. If you don't like their approach, go somewhere else. There are plenty of free alternatives.
I don't see why the data that they stream and pay for and even let you embed in any way gives you a vote on whether ads are included.
If you on the other hand hosted the videos and had the data transfer cost, then you would have everything to say.

Just my 2 cents.

Re: OhGizmo! » Archive » OhGizmo Voice Post: My Beef With The New YouTube Ads

Oh yeah... and one more thing. The figures range 300.000 - 100 millions, depending on whose research you are reading. 300.000 figure is supported by nostalgic Soviets - this figure is not big deal, they say, since, per capita, this is less than the number of prisoners in US today.

The funny thing, though, is how those guys who supported 100 million figure got it. They took USSR official DAILY statistics on how many people were behind the bars over the period of, say, 10 years and simply added the numbers of prisoners for each day over the examined period of time. That is, if some guy served, say, 10 years - that is, ~3650 days - this would translate into 3650 prisoners in the final statistics acquired by this method of calculation.

The paper concluded with poking fun of the "100 mil." researchers by taking the same official USSR statistics and summing up numbers of prisoners behind the bars for each HOUR over the period of 10 years. The figure was colossal. I don't remember it, but it's in billions.

One should be very cautious with statistics. Even when it comes from worthy source. Let alone the sources such as one where the figure of 40 mil. deaths from DDT bas was acquired from - Steven Milloy's site.

Re: It’s Official: Only 1,411 Tigers Left In India's Forest Reserves

They are doomed. I have a friend working in the field of nano-tech, with some sort of nano-powders (I'm not very good at this, so I didn't go into specifics). Surprise, but he is against nano-technologies, at least for now. Says we are unprepared to tackle consequences and don't have a safeguard mechanism tuned up specifically for nano-tech.

As an example, he cites some powders he works with as very penetrative as to human body. They enter your body and never leave it. How do they get there? With water, for example. Or you inhale it somewhere. How do these powders get into environment? Well, all the garbage, fuel floating in rivers, mercury and lead in Antarctic were not intended to end up there either.

Re: Do You Know What You Eat? Sometimes something is so obvious, that you need science only to rigorously prove what is already undisguised to man in the street without any science. Sometimes things are so complex that it takes decades and more for science to clarify.

So, if science says biofuel is bad for food prices and it is correct prediction that doesn't mean that gmo is safe, if science today says so (though it doesn't). It may take time. My mom worked with mercury with bare hands while learning chemistry in school - it was scientifically approved and mercury was shown to possess no harm to health. Yet now things are otherwise.

Just remember that we don't have 100% honest crystal ball, which produces completely unbiased research immediately we are puzzled with some nature's mystery. It takes time. And what is more important, people are behind science. We call them scientists, but not every one of them has scientific honesty and no ties with corporations.

Re: Survey: Is It Real or Photoshopped?

Photo looks a little bit strange. A year ago, it seems to me that chimps were reported to sharpen one end of the pole with the help of teeth, thus making spear, and hunt smaller monkeys (bush-babies, if I'm correct).

No surprise at all for someone who follows wildlife news. :)

Re: Norwegian Wind Power Could Become Europe's Battery

These Northern Europe countries... A good example to follow.

Re: Survey: Can GMOs Increase Our Food Supply?

Look what green revolution did to environment! And despite propelling the idea of feeding the poor, as we see today, it hardly put third world countries population out of misery. So, the mere comparing of gm-food with green revolution, though not intended, gives me shivers.

Also, gm-technologies might bring so much change to eco-systems we haven't seen yet and which we can't even imagine by now. While environmentalism is about preserving eco-systems. Promoting gm-tech and being environmentalist are mutually exclusive.

Though, there can be an exception, if they are grown in vertical farms (or whatever, just so that they are isolated from the natural eco-systems).

Re: Michele Bachmann: Caribou have Coffee Klatches 'Round the Alaska Pipeline

Neil,

you confuse ANWR and NPR-A (National Petroleum Reserve-Alaska).

ANWR is a wildlife refuge, it was created to give animals shelter, not to set aside exploration of oil.

Harsh conditions are not argument either. Life exists everywhere. In sands of Sahara, on ice of Arctic.

Re: Being Green Isn't Cool Anymore. He is super-rich. Give him 10 more financial crises straight one after another, he will still be easily able to fly every destination he would like to enjoy.

It turned trendy to announce environmentalism is dead. I hear this like every year since 2000 or somewhat. Yet all those environmental funds seem to collect record tons of money.

Re: \"The Largest Assault on Democracy and Freedom in this Country\": Rep.

Re: http://ukrainets.blogspot.com/2009/07/idioteka-polish-toilet.html

Рщ чщмуж не можна стоячи?
:)

Re: http://www.ilanbresler.com/2008/07/great-minds.html

Funny! :) Nice Title!
