great article, and very true, especially about not taking too many breaks. i find once you get the ball rolling go with it, its a lot harder to restart something after you have stopped.

in Wikipedia’s Doubleplusgood Editing Practices on How To Split An Atom
This seems to be a growing trend amougst big information sources, take digg for example, they have been known to ban certain news stories reaching the front page. google are also guilty of banning or deleting certain videos. But i think it will backfire on them if they continue to do it, as people will no longer trust them.

That's a really good point. It seems that a lot of these so called democratic sources of news end up becoming increasingly editorial as they scale. Of course, this is to combat spam but it does beg the question as to whether you can have a truly democratic news source when people are involved.

in Why Blogs Suck on Andy Beard - Internet Business Systems Discussion
I dont think the number of blogs out there make a difference, if you blog has unique and interesting content people will want to visit it. Although because there are so many blogs out there it may take longer now to build up that traffic and for your site to be found. Also for the average computer user most of them dont know what a blog is, my mum doesnt, they just see it as another site on the net. As for making money on a blog, its not something you should rely on as your only source of income, unless you have an extremely popular blog.

in MindValley Launches SocialRank To Aggregate Niche Blog Content on Instigator Blog
I dont think computer aggregation is going to be very successful, for now at least. But technology is advancing so fast, and alogorims become more and more complex, who know? eventually computers may be able to provide that human touch and you wont even know the difference.

i dont think google has anything to fear, they have the benefit of learning from other search engines mistakes and if they can get a good foothold in china nothing will stop them.

in Destroy Your Blog Rankings Linking To Digg or Technorati? on Andy Beard - Internet Business Systems Discussion
i thought this was a great article, and i did wonder about the effect of linking out to social bookmarking sites. but does it really matter if you follow comments?
there is a social bookmarking plugin that has the option to use nofollow on the links, and i think it is more descriptive than sociable which i used to use. the plugin is called "bookmark me"
