I'm Amy and I manage digital and social media marketing programs. I work downtown and just moved from Hyde Park to Westwood. I'm @worleygirl on Twitter.

Re: Kansas City Tweetup a big success

Great to finally meet some of my local Twitter pals in real life!
@worleygirl

Re: Gary Vaynerchuk - Big Picture Patch

It just came to me while I was on a walk. I start each one with "#R2BT" and list out what I'm thankful for right then. I would love it if others started doing this. It would be a good reminder to all of us everytime we saw someone else doing it. Also, I like the idea of having a log of things that I'm thankful for. Someday when I'm down (this is rare...I'm kind if like Gary...) it could come in handy.

Re: http://gary.tumblr.com/post/78887084

I've found myself using Facebook less and less over the last few months and paying more and more attention to Twitter. The problem is that my friends who are not geeks (yes, I have some) aren't on Twitter. So if I want to keep up with them, I have to go to FB. I'm trying to recruit them, though!

Re: What Were Your First Steps

Sometime around 1997 I was working for the Kauffman Fellows Program at the Kauffman Foundation...it's a fellowship in the venture capital industry. They were recruiting by doing a big roadshow visiting business school campuses around the country and they were actively trying to recruit more qualified women to the program.
I did some research online and found WITI...Women in Technology International. They had a listserve for the members. I did some research and then sent them a message about the program and got some fantastic response. Only about 10-12 Fellows are chosen each year, and that year one of them came from that WITI communication and follow up.
Ever since them I've been motivated by the combination of human networks and technology to help bring people together in mutually beneficial ways.
Now I participate in several social media activities. In particular, I'm a Twitter addict.
