in Unveiled on UnveiledHi, I'm getting married in 2 weeks and I just stumbled upon your blog. I had the same budget in mind as you but with an estimate of 100-120 guests. I saved on a few things like my dress which was off the rack, my future mother inlaw made my veil, and I paid 1/3 less on invitations through exclusivelyweddings.com when they emailed me a discount code. And yes, I have so much wedding junk mail items now - good thing I recycle! But all in all I'm at the American Wedding Average price including my honeymoon. I think most of that is because I had to have a location w/hotel. My matron of honor got married 5 years ago and only spent $6K. She had hers at an Elks club and her husband is allergic to flowers so her sister is crafty and made all the bouquets from silk ones (which really cut costs)
I think I could go on and on...but your blog is dead on with all the time and planning efforts involved and its easy to see how the guy just tunes out, especially if he's not detail or iented or likes to plan things.
I've been planning since July last year. :-)
Good luck and I'd be happy to share tips or vendors I felt were good quality and value of the money.

in First Entry on Investing AdventuresJorge ... your comments are still nofollow. Did you visit the link that tells you how to remove nofollow tags from blogspot blogs on page one of the do follow thread on the PPP forum?
To see if your comments follow click on this post since it has comments nd then where it shows the comments below the post highlight a few of the comments and then right click over it to "view source" and you'll see that nofollow is still in the urls. :(
Let me know when you've got it working.

in First Entry on Investing AdventuresHello to you too! Just here testing to see if your comments follow or not. :)
Oh oh ... you are only allowing comments from blogspot registered users. That does not give do follow bloggers a link back to their site. You'll need to correct that if you want to be added to the do follow blogroll. Just allow "other" to leave comments. Believe me, you'll get more comments that way. Moderate your comments if you want but open them up to non blogspot members too!
