I took my son to see it as well. It was great. Your photos and videos turned out pretty good. Mine were pretty blurry.

in MyAlltop: Alltop Gets a Custom Feed Reader on Mashable - The Social Media Guide
Great so Alltop might actually become useful. Funny I remember talking about how Alltop could become useful back in June last year.
"They could start by offering accounts with more personalization options. Allow people to add other RSS feeds to their own accounts and become a news reader application for those that want it. Offer the ability to add friends, share news items between them and let people to comment on news items something like Friendfeed."
Think I'll stick with a real RSS reader.

It certainly is easy to add yourself. Only takes a few seconds to send the tweet to get listed so that is nice.

in Register Dot Com Offers Free Domain Names on LiveCrunch Technology Blog
The catch is easy, you need to renew it at their LOW $35.00/year rate. At that price I can register 3 domains at another registrar. Register.com is still living in the past with their prices, not to mention it is almost impossible to transfer a domain away from them. The headaches they will give you are not worth the price. One of the worst registrars on the planet.

I have never really understood why they have a 5000 friend limit to begin with. Just another reason not to work to hard to build up your profile on other people's networks when it can be taken away in a second.

I wrote this post up quickly about rebooting a Windows machine by SSHing into my Linux machine and people just seem to love it. It has become one of the best posts of the year.

@Thaya Kareeson,
Well maybe that is the difference. On the site where it does not work WordPress is actually installed in a subfolder as per the codec (http://codex.wordpress.org/Giving_WordPress_Its...). The difference is that WordPress is installed in the folder called blog.
The permalink structure is this: /blog/%year%/%monthnum%/%postname%.html
Don't know if that will help. If there is anything else you need let me know.

Really like your plugin and it works great on one site that I maintain. On another site however it is not working so well. Here is what I have discovered.
It looks like it is a jQuery call that is the problem. On the site where it work the GET request looks something like this:
http://www.website.com/permalink/index.php?wpgb...
and that works.
On the site where it does not work the permalink structure is different and is set to contain .html as well. So the permalink looks like this: http://www.website.com/blog/2008/11/permalink-n..., the jQuery request then looks like this:
http://www.website.com/blog/2008/11/index.php?w...
Which returns a 404.
Thought I would let you know. I have deactivated the plugin for now until this can be fixed since my error log was getting rather full.

I am impressed with Chrome. It is fast, lighter and has some nice features. There are still some things missing from it that might come yet. I like the way Firefox can be extended using addons and if/when Chrome supports addons and/or similar features I can see me using it more.

in Best Of Ebay – Ebay Sellers Christmas Opportunity on Andy Beard - Internet Business Systems DiscussionI wonder if they might integrate the 2 in some way, allowing you to Stumble the Best of Ebay.
I hope not. That was one of the things I was worried about when Ebay bought StumbleUpon. That we would be seeing Ebay auctions as we Stumble. If they do offer it hopefully we could turn it off. Like Stumbling Flickr or YouTube.

Great post. Will there ever be a reply from the famously tight lipped Google from any official channel (meaning not Matt Cutt's blog).
Nothing like a bit of a PR mistake on the part of Google. Yahoo and MSN should be jumping at this chance to do something better than Google for a change.

in I’ve been Stumbling through the Web on Scobleizer
StumbleUpon is great! It is a great way to discover new sites. I use it all the time to find interesting sites that are usually very on topic with what I am interested in. A lot more fun than MySpace.
