in Lenovo adds VIA Nano powered IdeaPad S12 on netbooknews.com
Any more news on this. I'm interested, but is the ION graphics worth the wait? Are the Chrome graphics any good? I'd use this primarily for a lappie, but also as a travel media player.

Good ideas. Extending Connie's idea by using category or topic hashtags would be even more helpful, like wefollow.

in Data Robotics Wants to Charge Me for Drobo Firmware Updates! on The Daleisphere
That's crap. I have a Drobo v2. I sincerely hope they fix their customer service problems before I need to call them. I'm sure I'll have to, I just don't know when. I can't believe some of the stuff they're doing and have done.

Brian, please note the update I just added above. If you are willing to install the beta version of the next release fo the drobo dashboard, firmware updates will continue to be available for free from now on/

in Your sync stinks! Problems with Google Calendar CalDAV on what it feels like for a boi
Great screenshots comparing the two methods. I have an iPhone, so that was part of why I stuck with Spanning Sync. That, and I love Contact sync and they are pretty good at updating the software with new features.

in My New Business Cards on ATLChris
Received my order, and the quality was awful. Took another two weeks to hear back from them after I complained. We'll see how long it takes for a refund.
I'm sure it's not everyone's experience, but I'm going with someone local to support small business and be able to have some accountability.

Damn, dude, read nothing but a bunch of bad reviews of overnightprints. Unfortunately, that was AFTER I read this post and ordered some cards through them. Now my order hasn't been processed (three days) and I can't get through to a CS rep...
Oh well, I'll just see how long it ends up being...how long did it take you to get your cards?

Brian, I am sorry to here you are not having a good experience with Overnight Prints. My order took about a full week to show up in my mailbox. Give it time, the name is a bit deceiving, because they do not print overnight!
Best of luck!

@Jason - are you kidding me? Use similar colors to Flickr (spell it right, please)?
You use the same colors as Flickr, the same grey box background, the same page layout, the same header, the same footer, etc. This is a blatant ripoff and you should be ashamed.

in Tech companies suck on Island in the Net
Man - I was searching for Tivo wireless G and came across this site - what a bunch of crap this is. I'm in the same boat. Cancelled Comcast Digital Cable with DVR (total ripoff as they continue to jack up prices). Decided to go with basic cable and Tivo. Get the Tivo and realize I need an internet or phone connection. I have no home phone (got pissed and cancelled digital phone as well) so it has to be internet. Guess what. No frickin' connection in my living room, so have to go wireless, and of course, can't use WPA2, so now I'm SOL.
What a pain in the arse this has been. If I ever get over being so irritated I might write something about my experience. Lovely.

As I don't know which chipset the S12 comes with in the VIA Nano SKU, it's hard to say how good it'll be, but VIA has been lagging behind a little bit on the graphics side.
As we haven't had a chance to test either system it's hard to say, but if you intend to watch HD video (720p or above), then the ION model is most likely going to be worth waiting for.
I just saw that there's a way to get a discount on the Atom and Nano versions, so the VIA based one is under $400with free shipping http://portablemonkey.com/article/deal-of-the-d...
The ION version is likely to be a lot more expensive, with rumours suggesting as much as $600, which doesn't really seem worth it compared to what a normal 12-inch notebook costs.
Also, check out the Samsung N510 which is about to launch, as it's also ION based, but with a slightly higher resolution 11.6-inch display.
