@Jacob I thought there was no hate speech aloud. Is this an exception?

Oh man.
"While Cole gave you some ‘blah blah blah i went to college’ bullshit."
I am just glad I didn't have to say it.

Nothing is more homophobic to the extent of displaying closeted tendencies as complaining about the amount of mail genitalia shown on-screen. "Hey dudes! We're so straight, we complain about dude's junk shown on screen. Bring on the boobs!" Lame.

in The Savvy Snippet: How To Avoid Criticism on The Savvy Entrepreneur
Don't forget to make a good project/provide a good service. I know a lot of people who stand by similar advice, but don't actually provide enough quality to back up their cocksure take on avoiding criticism.

in Lessig, Obama, and Grassroots Political Strategy on The Technology Liberation Front
I don't get, though, that Lessig is giving a free pass, or whatever it is that people are saying he's doing on FISA. What is the response to his final statement about acknowledgment of some limits of power in the context of compromise?
"Please, fellow liberals, or leftists, or progressives, get off your high horse(s). More on this with the next post but: it is not "compromising" to recognize that we are part of a democracy. We on the left may be right. We may be the position to which the country eventually gets. But we have not yet earned the status of a majority. And to start this chant of "principled rejection" of Obama because he is not as pure as we is, in a word, idiotic (read: Naderesque)."

"the right wing tried to have a counter-conference at the same time during NN08. Punks."
I am curious as to whether or not you think that post-Obama election, around this time next year, without anything as epic as the Bush administration to buck against, the Netroots will be as unified or if the Republicans/right are staring down the barrel of a populist revolution of their own?

Crawford is a great film. I reviewed it for TRACE Magazine a long while back. It's a good one.

in Why I don't like 'crowd sourcing' (Scripting News) on Scripting News
In response to some of the quips, though, I agree with Jay's latest converse Tweet: "When you go to vote do you say: hey, I wanted to be treated as an individual? Or treat me like everyone else?"

"The political activism in opposition to the bill is proof that the Net Generation is not as apathetic as certain critics seem to believe."
Is it any longer common knowledge that the Net Generation is apathetic? Critics who make claims like this sound ignorant, especially in the wake of all of the work that has been done paying attention to the Millennials.
