in WBW 45 - Old World Reisling on Catavino
Thanks for joining my non-Iberian friendly theme. Sounds like a great wine.
Is that the Spanish spelling of Riesling? ;-)
Cheers,

in WBW#43 Round-up: Comfort Wines! on Wine Life Today blog
Well done, Joel! Definably worth the wait.
Guess I'll have to check my bags on the way out west next month since I'll be packing a Prairie Fume for you. Last time I had it at the winery (10 years ago?) it was pretty nice... for Seyval Blanc ;-) Perhaps it's better now but it's in most stores here in MN.
Cheers!

in Gary takes on two Sherry’s in his Sherry Episode! on Catavino
You nailed it Ryan; Gary clearly doesn't like Sherry or he would have checked Wikipedia for 5 minutes before recording this video. I'm sure he will do better next time...

The view and food is awesome... hope some other wine bloggers pay a visit sometime. And the wines so far have rocked :)

in Spanish Wine, Portuguese Wine - Attention RSS Subscribers to Catavino on Catavino
Great idea, Ryan!
OK, so I subscribe to the blog in Google Reader and the podcast on iTunes.
The last Iberian wine tasted is still open but it is not a good one, I'm afraid... I found it at a store that is usually reliable on somewhat of a close out for $9. It's from Juilia Roch e Hijos, "Casa Castillo", Monastrell, Jumilla 1999. It looks fine in the color department but has the dirtiest barnyard nose I've ever encountered. The black cherry and spice flavors are not too bad and there is still some life ahead for this wine but something really went wrong here. I scored it a 74 and will write more about this wine on my blog soon.
Cheers!

in About Us? - Wine bloggers to your blogs! on Catavino
Wow, thanks for posting this Ryan. Kind of scary to see all that personal info collected in one place. I'll have to go around and lock down all my URL's in Whois now to prevent any stalkers :)

in Wine blogs We Like and a Few Others on Catavino
You are very welcome, Ryan. Catavino has been in my blog aggregator for some time now and I continue to learn about wines coming from Spain and Portugal every week.
