Another friend in Alaska says some Alaskans are pissed at her for disappearing and not doing basic governing (people where handing out "Where's Sarah?" buttons at folk fest.

Re: Texas restaurant doesn't allow "that faggot stuff"

Maybe it was in a mall, and they called mall security.

Re: DiFi says Bush & Co. broke the law by concealing counterterrorism program from Congress

So Feinstein isn't annoyed by torture, just the undercutting of her (Congressional) power by keeping Congress in the dark about the new program. The rest kind of goes with that, that is if you're not canceling the bad stuff, you might feel obligated to do things like MAKE UP REASONS IT'S NOT THAT IMPORTANT (that is, it doesn't have to be done now). And yes, verbalizing those reasons comes across as sabotage, but to me the problem is that it's not getting done, that basic civil rights for gay people is trivial or political suicide, or whatever, who gives a s--t. If we have to wait until there's no crisis-de-jour (war, economy, terrorist act, financial issue, health care--yknow, the thing married GAY PEOPLE HAVE TO PAY EXTRA FEDERAL TAXES ON--, social security and medicare funding issues), in other words the perfect sunny day, it'll never happen (not even on the perfect sunny day).

Re: Robert Reich: "How Tough is Our President?"

It's pretty bad if the brand is hanging on one guy's shoulders. But, it's a hassle, like sometimes they turn it on from inside the office and usually don't give you enough time, and one time it took a while to get the guy to turn it back on (he left for something) which makes a couple quarters seem easier.

Re: MIT kids do the darndest things - like sending cameras 100,000 feet into space with $150 worth of material

They faked it.

Re: Ukraine's got talent

I don't know what the music is at 2:39, but a song with a really similar sound (the one on the video reminds me of the other) is the Marty Robbins version of "Return to Me."
