in Local news aggregator Fwix expands to 25 more cities on VentureBeat
Looks like the local space is heating up. A lot of different applications are starting to pop up attempting to solve the inefficiency of local search as it currently exists. Its a very interesting time and at Jippidy.com we believe that there will be a winner in the few years. Hopefully its us. My only problem with data aggregators is that they do not serve the exact needs of a user at time but who know's it may work.

in Internet Yellow Pages and Local Search in 2009 on Jamie Hutson
We are naturally a progressive society which means the internet will progressively steal market share wherever it can compete with an offline product. Every business owner will need an internet marketing plan. Print will continue to lose relevancy.

The whole local business space is rapidly changing and integrating new technologies. I think the future of business directories are user generated and social. I believe this will help keep the content fresh and up to date. Jippidy.com is one such user generated small business video yellow pages.

Interesting that in 2008 Facebook has only gotten bigger and stronger. I will say this, its not over yet. I think the social game is still relatively early and their may be other models that will emerge and be just as dominant.

in Yahoo’s SearchMonkey escapes into the wild of general search on VentureBeat
Yahoo will need to do more to win the local search but they obvious have the capital to do it. I don't really like the current local platforms out there. Personally, I feel like we have to tear down all the current directories and start all over.

At Jippidy.com we believe that the future of search is user generated and this is virtually the best way of keeping content fresh and up to date. Many times you're search results are stale and out of date.

in Local Marketers; small to medium sized businesses’ advertising on Gattune! Technology and Web
As everyone knows by now, video is very exciting. I think in the next few years people will discover that video is appropriate for certain areas of the consumer market, right now it seems like everyone wants to use video for everything. I think the small business arena will benefit the most from video which is pretty much the thesis behind Jippidy.com
