in How Do YOU Avoid Personal Distractions While Working With Facebook and Twitter? on Mr Tweet Blog
Thankfully (and annoyingly), my work uses WebSense which blocks FaceBook and Twitter. I recently figured out that I can work around that by using TweetDeck, but not for long I'm sure. Therefore, my biggest distraction is my phone (G1) which runs Twitter and Facebook very nicely. I adjusted my phone's "work" settings to run the message alerts silently. Then I just keep the screen on black out (only phone calls and texts break through). That helps alot. Plus, I just feel really crappy about my lack of productivity when I allow Twitter and Facebook to control my attention.

I do have to say that I liked the fight analogy. At least they were doing something different. It made the night more interesting, especially since I had to turn of every single Archie song. Nice kid. Can't stand to here him sing. Cook did fine. I think he's ready to win and move on.

in Let’s Go Red Wings on Territorial Bloggings
This is a tough one. Red Wings versus Penguins. Can I root for both? My son is a huge Malkin/Crosby fan, but has equally huge respect for the Detroit Red Wings. I'm writing the game schedule on my calendar!

ghp You can root for both, just root for the Wings more. ;)

Seriously though, this ought to have been the series that the league wanted for the Finals all along. The best run of the legendary "Original 6" franchises (Detroit) vs. the sexy new up & comers (Pittsburgh). The last two franchises to win back-to-back Cups (Pittsburgh in 91-92 & the Wings in 97-98, both under Scotty Bowman).

Detroit has successfully made the transition from outspending everyone in the pre-salary cap era (witness their HoF-laden roster Cup run in 2002) to out scouting everyone in the new cap era, while having also managed the transition away from the Yzerman-era core of the last decade's success. Pretty darned impressive.

Pittsburgh has, as I've recently read, gotten to where they are the old-fashioned way -- they've sucked! :D Seriously, though, they've drafted smartly & taken proper advantage of fortuitous circumstances to get Sid the Kid & Geno, and mix them with Super Mario's personal charisma & business leadership skills to make a go of it Pittsburgh. (Although I must confess that I'd hoped they would've left for K.C. or Portland, if only to get Detroit back into the Eastern Conference & away from all that travel...)

This series isn't going to get awesome ratings in the States, and the Canadians will whine because (yet again) a Canadian team will not win the Cup. That all aside, this promises to be an outstanding series for hockey fans.

Agreed. Your points have changed my mind. Besides, Cook wants to win, so I'll be happy to cheer him on to victory. I do think he's got the momentum at this point in time, which should drive the voting.

David Cook is the clear best performer this season. I like that he is reliable, talented, creative, emotionally steady and youthful-looking. That being said, I hope he does not win. I would like him to be the runner-up to Archie. I don't think he's a good match for that too-good-to-be-true $1,000,000 AI contract. He could have lost a couple of weeks ago and still be a top seller. I agree that Sayesha will go home tonight.
