J-the comment system seems bulky. Maybe it just appears that way on my screen but maybe not.

in REVEAL anyone? on BeDeviant.com | THINK DIFFERENTLY
I would love context on this quote because I can see Mr. Bell going two different directions on it. Or rather, I can see one perspective but I may have another opinion. There are plenty of examples of churches who haven't adjusted their strategy as their demographic changed but we don't know about them because they don't exist anymore.

Oh and J-I walked all over the city one night by myself in the rain. Don't be afraid-it's not so scary!

Alright J-YOU have to go to the Apple store on 5th ave. It is really cool. If are up for a really cool history lesson that is incredibly moving go to Ellis Island and take the audio tour-but don't go on Friday morning as that is often field trip day-I think even for summer programs. If you don't-at least take the Staten Island Ferry as night-gorgeous views of the city. Ground Zero of course and the Dean and Deluca in Rockafeller Center is a great place to people watch. Oh-for you and Kerry-go to Cafe Lalo on the Upper East side-it's this great little cafe that they filmed You've Got Mail in-it truly is enchanting. Hmm...if I think of more I will let you know. Have a blast!

in I ignore beggars. on BeDeviant.com | THINK DIFFERENTLY
In those moments I have to think not of the earthly person "begging" but of the Heavenly Father who for whatever reason has allowed them to cross my path that day. For me to keep driving (and I sometimes do) would move me one step further from being the life of love that I so desire to live. Whether they need it or not is none of my concern. If those who have helped me in the past withheld their kindness because I wasn't completely in the depths of life, I would have slept in my car more, eaten alone at home more and missed so many amazing God moments where he shapes me through the kindness of others. So I will continue to stop, and not just give money but try and meet the genuine need of the person. I will buy them food and water, give them a hug and a smile and let them know that whether they need it or not, they are not just forgotten by the world.
