The Skittles site probably wasn't getting much traffic and with very little money they not only revamped their website but created a free advertising campaign. People are blogging about it, Tweeting about it and it's likely to get picked up by a few main stream pubs and I wouldn't be surprised if it's on the evening news. They created a meme and that's exactly what social media is about - conversation. And, they took big risks by putting this up and allowing both the good comments with the bad. Plus, whether they meant to or not they are now crowdsourcing new business ideas. Are the tour guides at Jelly Belly willing to take that risk?
