Ok, I met the first point only, now I have to install Linux to be a great hacker by your definition. ;o)) Or rather not, thank you. ;)
I tend to use debugger less and less, but I wouldn't say that it doesn't help understand code...why not? It actually does.

I am waiting for Android, since the platform is open and Google is able to innovate quickly.

in Is this what online news has come to? on Mathew's comments
I think the print newspapers have the same problem, but it is not so noticeable since you don't buy every newspaper to compare if they run the same story. Often they do. On Internet it seems worse just because technology allows us to harvest all those links and show them on one place.
From another perspective, every techblog has its own audience. Shouldn't it post some news just because other were quicker?

in First hour with Google’s new browser on Scobleizer
I like it. I spent quite a few hours of my life fiddling with FF extensions, but I realized that I just can go without them.
Two things I am missing so far: F11 - Fullscreen mode (handy at my 10" laptop) and also Chrome doesn't remember when I increase font on some website. But I think they will sort of stuff like this later on.

in The Gentleman’s Guide To Tipping on Art of Manliness
I usually give tips, but not always - when I don't feel satisfied with the service, or consider it expensive enough, I don't tip. When I was an "European tourist in USA", I felt very uncomfortable with their system of "mandatory tiping". I consider it completely unnatural. I think tip should be something like a bonus, not a part of the basic wage.
This mandotory tiping system implies that I should be feeling guilty when I don't tip, and I am not personally willing to play that game.

Andy: Yes we care, but for different reasons. I am not Robert's friend, and he is not my friend. But I follow his FF feed, just for the reasons he describes in the blog posts.
I agree that Robert may have some narcistic aspect in his personality, but is that a crime? I couldn't care less - everyone has his or her own quirks, so what.

in The Man’s Guide to the Perfect Marriage Proposal on Art of Manliness
Maybe some would find it strange, but I personally didn't make a formal proposal. About 2-3 months of dating, we started to mention in our conversations that we just should stay together the whole life...afterwards, sometimes my wife would refer to me as "my future husband". After some more months, we went to a local church office and applied for marriage (but I asked for parent's approval before that).

in Mike Arrington and Steve Gillmor don’t use Firefox 3.0 on Scobleizer
I use FF3 as my primary browser from about Beta 4. I think it is a best browser so far, although the game is far from over yet. Let's see what IE8 would bring to the table.

I was not coddled when I was a kid (although I didn't have to work), and I thanks my father for that. It's very easy to spoil a child by doing so. Great article!

in Asking a Woman’s Father For Her Hand In Marriage on Art of Manliness
I followed this custom and I am glad I did, now my parents-in-laws respect me more. In my country the tradition says one should ask both parents, so I did. But the act was shorter as proposed in this article - I didn't explain why I want to marry her, just stated my intention directly. ;-)
So, I recommend to follow this custom.

in Microsoft’s real problem on Scobleizer
If I would be Ballmer, I'd propably just pour more millions into Search, since that's where the ads money will be. MSFT inability to compete with G is a huge disadvantage in the fight of online ads dollars.

Swastika in itself is a positive thing, meaning "big luck". It's just Hitler misused it for his own gain.

Yes, the same feeling here. I can't help, but as soon as I visit his website, I start to feel uneasy...like some kind of negative energy is flowing from the pages to my head. No, I am not joking.

Hello,
Pocketmod looks cool, I printed one myself, but is it really that usefull in real-life GTD implementation? For example, if your calendar is already full and you need another pocketmod, do you rewrite your unfinished next actions into new pocketmod?
BTW, don't you know about Microsoft Word template, where I could add my own text?

[edit] I checked back in to see how the conversation was going and noticed my comment was a little out of context. I was replying to @anon1 :)
I definitely +1 jamesgolick's comment about the spirit of this post and what to take away from it.
