in Is it a long-term slide? on The Metaverse Journal
ABC Island had a performance space that never got used. Bigpond didn't do anything special, so it's no wonder there was a big spike in Aus users that dropped off when most of them didn't get it.

When we started we had no Aussies attending our shows for a couple of months. The hype hit our shores and we found a bunch, the ones who liked our music are still regulars at the Friday night shows, I suspect the others couldn't find anything in SL that interested them and gave up.

in Australia’s first major SL music event on the horizon on The Metaverse Journal
Word up Cybster, I checked your place out but so far have not been able to catch you at a live venue. I never said we were first, and since I got on I've searched the live listings to see when you were playing, or any other Aussies and I have not found them yet.

The author of this article has made it seem like some very very well known bands are playing in SL such as Beast of Bourbon and Dallas Crane but that is not so, they are in Texas. Cattle Puppy is not claiming this, just that this particular article looks a bit that way. What was with the Age saying it would be lip synced? Is that for real via some new tech we don't know about?

I totally agree there can't be too much Aussie music getting in there, and it's a great way to promote what you're doing to the world.

in Australia’s first major SL music event on the horizon on The Metaverse Journal
While this is the first big (in terms of $$ and publicity) music event in SL, our Aussie band has now done five performances to over 100 different avatars from all over the world, all independent of any production company or government assistance.

It has cost us approximately $200 US to acquire the land and sign up for a year to get us started and we have partnered in the last two weeks with an island owner so we don't have to put up with camping casinos preventing people seeing our shows.

So far we seem to be the only truly live Aussie music act getting a regular stream out in Second Life, and the best thing is it's in an Aussie time slot and every week!

We are now working on our plans to "abduct" several local Canberra musicians, DJ's and MC's into our studio to stream into SL.
