Hey there! So glad I went through all the books in my hobby/craft room/library/place to store all my junk last night.. otherwise I would have been tempted to join this lovely group. I have so many books to read in my house that it's ridiculous! Plus, trying to get that room ready to be a mad-phat-till-da-breaka-dawn nursery has my head spiinning....

Although I do not go to his church, I do know him. He is an honest person. Honest as they come. He has been put on "administrative leave" while the elders decide his future. If he has to register as an offender then he will surely loose his job. He has been in that position longer than I have been in this town. They do so much there. Including a soup kitchen for the hungry. I know that he is innocent but because of how it looks to the public, he will probably have to go. That is the big shame of all of this.

Christians are supposed to care about each other. They are family to each other. They are supposed to forgive, even when not asked. They are supposed to "restore" the one who has done wrong and bring him back to where he was--or better. Now, his church and his flock will probably turn their backs on him. That, is the worst thing that is coming out of all of this. If I would ever think about trying out his church--I would not--because of them turning against him.

BEAUTIFUL drawing! I love the colour and how certain parts are sharp like the face but the pink shawl and hair are slightly blurred, very effective. Just came across your blog, love it!

Surcouf a baissé son tarif à 299 €. C'est vraiment n'importe quoi, ça monte, ça baisse sans arrêt, chez les uns ou chez les autres, d'un jour à l'autre, d'une heure à l'autre...

Raison de plus pour ne pas le payer un euro de plus que 299 €....

"Escrocs" me semble un bien grand mot pour 11 euros d'écart avec le prix "officiel". Il est fréquent de voir des écarts de prix sur une référence. Il suffit de chercher un modèle d'APN. Si ce n'était pas le cas, les comparateurs de prix de serviraient à rien.

Après cela, à chacun de choisir quelle est sa priorité : payer le moins cher possible, avoir l'appareil tout de suite ou être prêt à attendre un peu, acheter chez un commerçant de confiance ou se risquer chez des inconnus, avoir son compte débité tout de suite ou à l'expédition...

Maintenant, quand il s'agit de payer 100 ou 200 euros de plus, là ok, on peut vraiment parler d'escrocs qui spéculent sur la "pénurie".

Every time I see a sad person, I pop them a smile and ask them if they're all right. Even if they aren't, its always nice to just say 'I'll be right over there if you need someone to talk to' or 'call me if you need me' Although they may not necessarily want to do that, its always nice to have someone else be concerned about your well-being.

My head bought into the "Vote Blago 2006, get Quinn 2007" line and I intended to do just that. Then, when I actually voted my conscience spoke and I impulsively voted for Whitney instead. I do not regret it. It's a relief, actually.

In my part of the state, it's difficult to find a starting wage that is less than $7-8.00 per hour already, so I have a hard time believing that there would be that much of an impact. My apologies if this is not so further downstate. I also don't think that a .50 differential would be discriminatory and should not stand--isn't it bad enough that women's wages still don't meet men's for the same work? And now we want to add ageism to this equation?

Just a comment on a couple of the comments that I found to be unfairly judgmental in tone.

Sometimes when people "choose to beg" it's because they have mental illnesses such as depression. Treat the illness and often you find a newly-motivated person who can find the bootstraps again.

Others "choose to beg" because they have been attacked and/or robbed at the shelters. My family took in a homeless man who was small and had mental retardation and it wasn't long before his stories about stealing and sexual abuse/coercion came out.

You can't know what a person is going through just by looking.

BTW I think the meter idea tends to strip away the human connection aspect, which some may desperately need. What must it be like to have so many people avoiding eye contact with you?
