Thanks for posting this. Whilst driving in my car a while back I stopped and yelled at a kid on a bike-- wearing all black, black bike, no reflectors on a dark street. Give me a break-- for six bucks you can get a blinky light at Smith's!

I myself rock the Mars blinky.

in Bersih Cekap Amanah Or Something Like That Lah on quaintly
All i can say is..I SO TOTALLY AGREE WITH YOU babe! This so-called tanah tumpahnya darahku is becoming more and more rigid and i really wanna leave this place a.s.a.p.Maybe leaving for good.

Talking about police, the dawn before the Bersih rally,a close friend, her mum and two friends were at a petrol station, pumping petrol at 3a.m. and two policemen came up to them. One of them kept flirting with my friend's mum and said,"Woah, macam pelakon Bollywood!Buat apa sini?" Stupid idiots were pretty blind to notice that they were obviously there to pump petrol.

The idiot kept flirting and asking all sorts of annoying questions till he let them off.He was also suspicious with the two friends sitting behind the car and asked who were they.Luckily,my friend's mum lied to him that they were her niece and nephew because both of them were dark-skinned.In the end,he warned them to leave and head back home quickly.

One thing I can't stand is those ignorant and hamsap policemen eying us females with a one kind look and continuously flirt with us.Trying to be some Casanova..pffffttt...

in Another thing I learned in theology class… on Lori's Reflections
Like Brenda, I grew up Southern Baptist- traditional SBC where they use nothing but the Bible. I had never heard Jesus went down into hell until recent years.
I don't see any evidence of it in the Gospels.
This is just opinion- When you think about it, why would He have to do both- suffer on the cross and in hell? Hell would be suffering enough.
One very good tool I use for studying is a Strong's Concordance. It helps you connect the dots, if you will.

One thing that can be a bit confusing is in Matthew 27:50-53.
After Christ died, the graves of the saints were opened. They rose LATER, after Jesus rose. This may be a source of people thinking He released some of the dead. Just a thought.

in Just hear me out… on Lori's Reflections
I understand what you are trying to say. It does put expectations on spouses (especially husbands) and if you don't talk to each other about it, someone will get hurt.

Another holiday that makes me sad is Mother's Day- sad for other moms out there who are single or alone. Especially battered women in shelters- Who is going to help their kids purchase a card or a gift? I know that the kids can make them something, but it isn't the same as someone encouraging them. One year our women's group put together gift bags for the moms at a shelter. It really was a blessing and I ended up meeting a mom and being blessed by HER words.

Sorry for the long comment! Thanks for addressing this. You never know. It may help a lady who has great expectations not be so disappointed this Wednesday.

Amen to that. Mrs. Ruth is a great lady. She kept the fires burning at home and stood by her husband in his ministry.
