in Four people seriously injured in Merrimack crash on Nashua Telegraph
Did the neon have it's directional on? I've had to break pretty quick there as I try to cross only to find the car on the other side is turning left in front of me (though I have right of way). It happens all too frequently at this intersection and the one at the Tech College in Nashua.

Jeffery Rowe
THe neon was going straight and the suv failed to yield as it tried to turn onto cont. blvd. that is according to witnesses. the suv was totally at fault, just another kid in mommy and daddy's bmw. he was most likely speeding and crankin' the tunes and not paying attention. the result: a family seriously hurt that had to be cut out of the car.

165 is a huge adoptin fee if that is all it was but try and spay a female kitten for less than 150 without state aid. The fees also go to feeding and housing the other cats (and dogs) at the shelter and in foster care.

in Nashuatelegraph.com: Residents don't mince words on sports proposal on Nashua Telegraph
Not sure about anyone else, but as a parent I'd like to think that I could keep my child busy after school without relying on the government to do it for me. They want to join a sports program? Sure, I'll pay for it, and they can help me with chores around the house to earn the funds. That's how it work in my family as a child.

There are many pepole who have heard of the Chinook, especially those that have studied NH history or spent any time upstate at the
"tourist traps". Personally I prefer herding dogs but I have yet to see any connection a BC or sheltie have to NH historically. Up with the Chinook down with the nay-sayers.

in Everett Turnpike still backed up on Nashua Telegraph
funny, just the other day I saw an article that claimed that the turnpike was kept up better than 93 during storms.
I don't usually have any issues with the turnpike... my issues are the people going too fast and the others going too slow because they are afraid. If you fear for an accident use DW Highway.

in Five-car accident under investigation on Nashua Telegraph
We've been wondering what happened. I work near where this took place and myself and my coworkers saw the cruisers and rescue personal responding. It made many of our clients late for thier appointments. Odd that an accident that shut down a major thruway didn't get reported on for 4 days.

in Man ticketed while wife was in labor on Nashua Telegraph
I'm not sure I will want to sit in gridlock waiting for an ambulance once I start labor. Contractions 3 minutes apart doesn't sound like she would have had a lot of time to sit around and wait.

in Man charged with assaulting infant son on Nashua Telegraph
How do you know its a false report? How do you know its not real? Personally, I was the subject of of such a "false report" ( there was no abuse, just an incredibly clumsy child in the ER twice in 12 hours for sutures) but honestly, even my parents were greatful for the concern of the hospital staff despite the questions and inspections they were subjected to. As am I. If I really had been an abused child I know someone had done their due diligence and made a report.

unhappy grammy
First of all, the child wasn't there for care. Her mother was. The staff saw the child fall and bump her head. I call that a false report.
If you see a child being beat on, or even psychologically abused, of course, you report it. Those are real cases of abuse and should be reported. This is part of the reason our state is so financially strained. False reports of child abuse and needless fostercare placements.

in Did you hear a loud noise last night? on Nashua Telegraph
Wished I had seen it and heard it. I wanted to be a Navy Pilot when I was a young girl and studied the different aircraft. I remember listening to them take off during an airshow at Pease but what I don't remember is the sound during a landing. ( Except the harrier. That I will always remember!) I mention this because yesterday afternoon I was in the backyard (Merrimack/Amherst area) and heard a loud dull thump. Like some huge explosion from miles away. I wondered if something exploded somewhere, now I'm thinking maybe it was the F-18 landing at Nashua. Am I right?

Heinz57, it wasn't just 5 years towards her BA in communications, but 6 colleges to get it.
I've given up saying what I think about this woman's ability to be a heartbeat away from becoming president. I can't handle the blood pressure spikes.
If America gets McCain and Palin for the presidency, then we deserve whatever happens IMO.

Heinz57, Exactly... Five years, how many different colleges? McCain lost when he chose Palin. What is truly sad is that Palin not only breeds contempt and hatred, in addition she promotes ignorance and the lack of her desire to educate herself. The Palin's are white trash... Sununu is done too! I would have given him the benefit if I'd not read what he said about Obama yesterday in Salem. Goodbye John!

"A greater respect by hostile nations"? What respect? Our country is a laughing stock. Sticking our noses in places we don't belong and telling people how they should be running their countries causes more conflicts than it relieves.

in Merrimack firm redefining blood tests on Nashua Telegraph
I'm a little surprised that this inhouse testing isn't already more available in human medicine clinics. Veterinary clinics have been using inhouse chemistry, cbc, and now thyroid and cortisol tests for years. They're are not always perfect (though very close) and can take 20 to 30 minutes to prep and run, but it beats waiting 4 hours or more for stat bloods sent to the lab.

in Obama halo photograph too much for this voter on Nashua Telegraph
I don't believe Obama is a savior. I believe he is a human being capable of learning from his past. I am, are you? I'd don't believe he is his cousin either. Certainly they are related but do you do, or even agree with, everything your cousins do? Obama worked for Project Vote, not Acorn. Acorn aided Project vote in 1992. And as for Acorn, when did these fraudulent votes take place. Was it 1992? And was it Chicago?
BTW did you know the "gentleman" that posted those youtube video was a christian, conservative, capitalist with an article about L Ron Hubbard from penthouse on his myspace page? As a straight down the middle reg. Independent 30+ woman expecting her first child, here is someone I can believe to tell me the truth. So far eveything I've read comes from one side or the other. Personally I perfer non-partisan, and John Stewart.

I'll admit it. I'm sick of the mudslinging. I was from the first. Certainly character is an important part of choosing a the next President of our country, but I'd truly like to see a candidate without some connection (however tenuous) to some shady dealings from their past. McCain you say? Look who he picked as his running mate. I'm sure the Alaskan judical system believes her completely innocent.
As for character, mistakes can be made. Associations and relationships can be regretted and learned from. Learning and growing are important parts of character building. I'm not convinced that Obama and Ayers were "pals". Certainly they worked together to make improvements in Chicago, but that doesn't require people to share all the same philosophies. I'd much rather my next leader be one that can realized that what he's believes may not work and learn from that rather than one who doesn't believe that they need to reconsider their stance for the good of their country.
If McCain wants to go after Obama, go after his policies. Find a way to improve the economics and political structure of this country. Improve our lives instead of trying to tear down one man.

If the Democrats picked Jesus to run at the top of the Democratic ticket in 2008, the Republicans would be attacking his character for running around with a loose woman and associating himself with lepers.
They would call him a socialist for upsetting the money changers in the Temple.
America has had enough of the character assasination from the right. It's the same propaganda tactics used by JosephGobbels and, if you are sick of the Karl Rove Republican character assasination politics, which McCain has obviously embraced, then send a powerful message to the Republicans on election day.
No more business as usual, it's time for real change!

I didn't like that road, that intersection, or that hill, when I lived in Mont Vernon and I certainly didn't like being on it this summer with our bike (even if I was only the passenger). I hope the Talberts make a full recovery and that others learn from this to pay closer attention.

Oh the other hand, if you are following the speed limit (or are at least close to it) it makes it a WHOLE LOT easier to avoid killing living creatures that cross in front of you. "Deal with it"? Moronic. I think people are missing the point. Its about not driving 50 mph on a back road not whether someone was an irresponsible pet owner.

A ticket for what exactly? An elderly drive acccidently pucha car in reverse not drive. Was she speeding? Driving recklessly? Using her cellphone? I'm sure there was extensive damage but what little information you just provided showed it as purely an accident. An "oops" moment. Similar to when my fiance recently backed into our garage door.

My thinking is that this isn't Merrimack either. For one thing the church is on the wrong side of DW, too close to the river (up near exit 12), and the buildings are too close together. My fiance and I kind of think its some other small NE town.

in Police rescue family 'lost' on preserve trails on Nashua Telegraph
Probably because unless you have a laptop with you to use the email on the exsisting map, you have no way to contact anyone involved with the Preserve. As I understand from the above article, they were simple looking for the fastest way out of the preserve, not lost. If they were on the Loop Trail ( as I was yesterday) it is a very long walk, especially at dusk.
As a side note: anyone using the Loop Trail from the Beaver Pond side ( near the Rocky Trail) watch out for the wasp nest hanging about 6 ft directly over the trail. My husband nearly bumped it while walking down the hill. You can see it more easily walking up. Its very large and very active.

If he had a cell phone he should have called 411, not 911 which is only for reporting emergencies.
Anyone unfamiliar with the trails should not be out there near dusk. He and his wife put their children at risk unnecessarily.

in Fence poses parking problem for Nashua couple on Nashua Telegraph
Where did it say the dog was vicious? It barks. So do all three of my dogs and they LOVE people and attention. But I agree the feces needs to be picked up on a regular basis (daily if you are within eyesight of a neighbor). Beyond the smell, many parasites can be transmitted back to the dog or his handlers should if he becomes infected. Perhaps the fine Christian neighbors of the Upper Room Ministery, since they are so concerned for the welfare of their disabled neighbors, would be willing to help them out, since that's what they claim this group does. Putting up a fence isn't a great way to bolster relations.

Yes, a barking doberman on your property is a sweet thing. Not a vicious thing. Right.
thud. ROTFLMAO. Like to see what you think if you came four feet out your door to a barking doberman.
Remember Magnum? Appollo, Zeus, bark bark bark. Yes, that wasn't vicious at all.

in One presumed dead in car crash, traffic delayed on Nashua Telegraph
I heard them crash and saw them hit the guardrail as I was approarching underneath on the milford side when it happened and I called 911. I didn't see anyone ejected or on 101a, just the wrecks and the fire. The mess of the jeep, I couldn't have identified it from the ground it was so twisted, looked like it had rolled over a few times, though I didn't see that happen. It could have easily gone right over on to the cars passing under. Scary. I wished I could have done more to help but I was in the wrong lane to get onto the highway. What a tragedy.
