They come up with so many ideas and ways to help. Sure they make tons of money, but I could care less - they obviously care and do their part to help the planet and people.

Re: Cool Exhibitors at West Coast Green 2008

Thanks for sharing all those great eco-friendly ideas. I loved the Harvest Home Furniture collection, I'm always on the lookout for "non-modern" styling for my apartment. And the Pefect Flush - how great for an apartment, my toilet's old and could use that. Can't wait until they become available to buy.

Re: Entrepreneurs to Sell Shipping Container Homes Below $10k

This is a great idea, especially for those in third world countries. Maybe even be used after a natural disaster as temporary housing, then re-used for other means later. It's nice to see college ideas turned into companies.

Re: REI Round Rock Second Green Prototype Store To Use 48% Less Energy

tda and Preston both make goods points. Location is important, but if REI was already planning a store there then using a more eco-friendly building attitude is better than not. Many people will still do shopping in these types of areas and the price of land will keep companies building out there. If they can find areas near train lines it might be able to create less auto pollution to get there (around here in Orange County, CA that's nearly impossible).

Re: Green Jobs, Sustainable Branding, Monitoring Eco Towns, + Credit Crunch

Will prefab ever catch on? Absolutely, I've seen more in the news and of real people's houses in the past 5 years than I had in my whole life. Granted I'm only 24, but they look so much nicer today, are brand new, and eco-friendly. Normal people are buying, those downgrading (like grandparents), and the "green" crowd are all interested. As long as the designs are fresh, new, and there's something for everyone, who wouldn't they catch on?

Re: LEED Platinum Home of the Future Reduces Energy Use by 80%

Wow that's beautiful. I'm in awe of the design, I live in Orange County and the Historic Orange Circle area has these all over the place (of course they are from the early 1900s). It's nice to see something "not modern."

Re: Chipotle Green Restaurant Uses On-site Wind Power

I love eating at Chipotle, they have really good "fast" crispy tacos. I'm mean sure they aren't anything spectacular without guacamole, but for a fast food joint there's nothing better around. I'm excited to read they are tying to be more eco-friendly in new developments. Thanks for the sharing the good news.

Re: 17 Extremely Expensive Gadgets to Fit The Luxurious Lifestyle

This might be mean, but my parents' dog will swim to the bottom of the pool. Good advertising for the "box" company too. Love it.

Re: Samsung Changes with Attitude

Not only is that a wonderful incentive for those buying a new washer/dryer, but that's a great looking set. Anyone hear of anything coming out in the next decade?

Re: Sustainable Fish Now Served on Not-So Sustainable Flights

I just wonder how it will taste. Normally I'm not a big fan of airplane food. But the food in First Class to Hawaii on my honeymoon was better than expected. I just hope it doesn't taste horrible where the fish that is so eco-friendly will be thrown away because no one will eat it. That would be horrible irony. Let us know how your fish was on that plane trip.

Re: Transformers: Private Dining by James Plant

It sounds like a great idea, but I would want to see it in action. I'm a little confused, is it like the Murphy beds, you open the door and the furniture comes out?

Re: Shade-Grown Coffee Ensures A Future Cup-a-Joe

That's very informative. I don't drink coffee, but my hubby does and I know he'll be interested in this. I don't think many people think past the coffee or decaf question, they just want what they want - no matter what the cost to the environment.
