Yeah, that feature is nice. As a sort of go-around, you can type "cnn" and then hit ctrl+enter to add "http://www." before and ".com" after and submit.

Ctrl+Enter = .com
Shift+Enter = .net
Shift+Ctrl+Enter = .org
