I think the hardest thing is to find a topic that you a) love to write about, b) won't get bored writing about, and c) isn't a carbon copy of what your chosen blogging guru is writing about.

Starting a blog is just like starting a business IMHO – you need a unique selling proposition. If you've got that then I think you're most of the way there!!
