In other countries they have LinkedIn Live meetings and people are more aggressive. That is not always a good thing. So I have been pushing my connections using the LION and TopLinked open networking groups without upgrading to the paid subscription service.

For me the value in LinkedIn comes in the form of an ongoing updated resume, especially with the testimonials. So this is the first things I send people before a meeting. The second thing I am doing from time to time is to do marketing research or competitive analysis for myself and/or clients through my 1700+ direct connections. When I post questions to my direction connections I get a very good response because of the numbers but also quality response because of the typical profile of the LinkedIn user vs. Facebook users. In the last 12 months I have removed my Twitter, MySpace and Orkut profiles to focus on LinkedIn for business and Facebook for pleasure reasons.

My next challenge is working with head hunters to show them how to bypass the traditional recruitment model using LinkedIn in South Africa. And this may the avenue for you to identify other attorneys to collaborate or partner with depending on the nature or complexity of your assignments. And I'm very happy to see you're connected to my friend Pria Chetty.

Re: Lawyers are LinkedIn to each other more and more

Hey Paul this an excellent post from a South African perspective. The media is all over me about a very popular mobile IM service called MXit after I released a Parents Guide to MXit in November 2006. How can I obtain some guidelines to grow this project?

Re: “Project Online Safety” and Other New Internet Safety Initiatives

Please send me a copy of your report when you complete it. And if you don't mind please add my Online Safety Action Campaign which is trying to achieve similar goals in South Africa.

Re: Amazon.co.uk still posts to South Africa + my conclusion on the postal decision

Thank you for clearing this up. I have purchased products from Amazon.com for the last 10 years and only recently have I found more and more cases where certainly the electronics are not easily being shipped to South Africa. I have found that purchasing electronics from the web + shipping is still still cheaper than purchasing in some local stores.

Re: The Secret To My Success

Hey Michel, thanks you so very much for sharing and for giving me more inspiration the more I learn from you. In South Africa we've come a long way since Apartheid and I had an opportunity to work in Middle East a few years ago and earn good money. I came back because I wanted to give back, wanted to inspire, and with what I am learning from your ebooks, articles, the copywritersboard and more, I am certainly getting there.

More and more I use affirmation that I am rich, I am healthy, I am happy and I have choice, I live in abundance, I experience it.

Sincerely
Ramon

Re: Gimme My Space!

The best business social network is LinkedIn.com. She was my mother's older sister and she and her son, and me and my mother lived in my grandparents house. And those final days for her was really tough on my mother who decided to look after her personally.

Anyway a few months ago I came across this amazing website with free video interviews with many different medical doctors, scientists, etc. And the one that's most relevent to your situation with Sylvia is the interview with Dr Lorraine Day which you can view here. She cured herself from Cancer, and she was also the head surgeon of San Francisco General Hospital. Please take a moment to watch this interview by her and the follow-up interview on the Conscious Media Network.

love
Ramon

Re: Marketer Exposes Herself For Charity

Hey Michel

My mother's sister passed away from Cancer about 10 years ago. And those last two years was particularly tough on my mother who decided to look after her older sister. And for many years me and my mom lived in my grandparents house, with her sister and her son. I was to young to understand the impact of Cancer.

Well I read a lot and found this amazing website with free video interviews of health experts, scientists and authors on a website called Concious Media Network. You will most be interested in the interview with Dr Lorraine Day, the head surgeon at San Francisco General before she developed Cancer, and cured herself using some natural health steps. She explains the drama, the pain, the suffering, the turnaround and all the scientific evidence that proves her methods to be superior, and much, much cheaper. And this is without chemo.

Please go look here and watch this interview as well as her follow-up.

love
Ramon

Re: We Are What We Think

Hey Michel

Excellent post as usual. I have watched The Secret so many times I've lost count. And working every day to implement the principles in my life. Two questions for you:

1. Who wrote the copy for The Secret Seminar Copy?

2. Why is it most of these teachers become rich themselves from teaching how to become successful and not from another type of business? What I mean is that most self-help gurus seem to become wealthy from teaching people how to become wealthy. Most of them did not in fact start traditional businesses. All seem to be self-help authors, speakers and trainers in some fashion.

Regards
Ramon

Re: Nothing Can Take The Place of Persistence

Thank you for sharing this inspiring story Michel. In South Africa we have some obstacles like not being able to receive Paypal payments. However, I do receive a physical cheque from Google every now and then and I have no problem going to my local banking and depositing the money! So I applaud this wonderful young lady for her persistence. Its one of those qualities I learned from reading the book, Think and Grow Rich by Napoleon Hill.
