in Getting Real on Clear Your Mind
Totally, it gets really old after the second one. The problem is the next person that contacts you, automatically you start thinking "I really need to give him a detailed answer? what if he just doesn't come back? what if I just never heard of him anymore? I really do want to invest this amount of time in an answer? maybe nothing happens...?"
And it's ok, we all have been there before. It all comes down to having a motto, like McDonald's or Burger King. No matter how the previous guy treated the clerk, he will always have a smile for the next one.
It's not all about being nice. But I have no doubt is a big part of it.
Worst case scenario: the person you are talking with, don't want to be honest and say something like "I'm going off for a trip" or something like that, to never speak to you again.
It's like when you are a kid and your dog dies, your parents tell you they sent it to a farm. Later you find out the farm was actually the backyard and his spot is six feet under the grass.
I will just be more comfortable with the truth.
Again, even with the lie, is not big deal. I just keep going and try to solve the next email inquiry, or at least point to the right direction.
Thanks for writing Mo!

in Why Guy Kawasaki Blog Sucks (Big Time) on Clear Your Mind
Hi Pepe!
That's how I post, never wanted to sound like Tom Peters or throw catchy titles; that's how I always blog. I guess I have learned a lot from Tom Peters and every time I remember what I have learned, I get too over exited. But that's about it.
And I don't think our only merit has been capturing attention; we do web design.
I was just explaining what happened during the whole situation and what I learned from it. I wasn't trying to write a book or something.
Yes, you could learn to use a little of that.

Too many catchy titles and cool phrases don’t make up for lack of substance.

Hi Paul!
Actually, I use wordpress. It's my new wordpress theme; still on the works (the footer needs some work). I usually like CMS that do just one thing and do it right! I will try EE to see how it works!

Josh! I think that's a good way of saying "hey, you are right, you can't even read that blog now!"! I know Mr.Kawasaki is a loving man and a good person: I trust he won't send me ninjas or web 2.0 nerds to chop my head while I'm sleeping (I'm watching you Yahoo).
