in Britain's zimbabwe economy - going to print money until all debts are gone and savers are wiped out ! on the bubble goes bang
Even small kids know that printing money cases more damage, we all know what happened in Germany after WW1, what's going on now in Zimbabwe. But our politicians (now I mean almost all western economies - USA, UK, Japan, Canada) are like "oh, but that's not OUR case, we are doing something completely different, we are saving the economy, you know?" Like printing it's not the same printing.
Regards,
Jay

in Attention Deserters: Try Mexico on Fastcase Legal Research Blog
I think there is a big difference between draftee and professional. First one is to forced to fight in war he didn't cause and is not interested in. The second one signed an agreement he will risk his life when asked and he got paid for it. So I think our judges are doing generally right decisions, I don't think there is any legal problem...
Take care

in Brilliant Green Architectural Design Concept? Skyscraper Retrofits for Power and Food on Ecoble
I'm not that sure about calling this approach the middle path. I'm getting worried about the way modern architects are thinking of building nowadays. All those new concepts looks so sci-fi like to me and they are so different from the traditional looks that due to some unknown doubt within me I fear it might not going to work and we are coming closer to further damage of our planet, which we try so much to reduce. I know the importance of technological progress for our lives but this just doesn't seem to fit our age.

in Awesome: Solar Powered Bicycle Boat Design on Ecoble
I never stop being astonished at what things people come up with these days. This design seems nice, what I like most about it is energy saving, the fact that it's enviromentaly friendly and it might be faster than other ordinary bicycle boats. However, imagine that the passengers will have to paddle, which is ok but there should be some kind of a dynamo inside its skeleton for accumulating of the power, or shoudln't it? All in all, it looks promising.

in Serious Games on How To Split An Atom
I don't understand the sense of this simulation-how it will help paramedics in real world? With all that cry, pain and blood? It's just a simulation. All right, it will help them to applicate appropiate treatment, but reality is absolutely different. It's the same as if you finish training at some flight simulator and claim that you're able to flight with JumboJet.
Still it is only a theoretical knowledge and you won't know how it is in real life until you'll really face the situation.

sbspalding It's true, it isn't the real world but it is a lot closer to the real world than other methods of training. I think the idea is to give them the closet thing to a real experience as you practically can.

in Mortgage Market Update on Lenderama.com
It's good to hear good news, and for a myriad of reasons, I am pleased much when the US prospers. But tinkering with Vancouver real estate, I'm concerned chiefly with one thing: how do you surmise Canada's market shall be affected? I know that statistics show Canada's economic pattern following US in terms of crises; yet for some reason, my nose tells me there's less threat coming to Canada this time around. At least, I'd like it to be so.

Here's to that,
Jay

in Small Brokers vs Large Brokers on Maxsell Real Estate
I a consider myself a "bigger small agent", on the other hand I am under Vancouver ReMax. I think it's a good combination. clients know me as a local agent, on the other hand famous brand helps, when contacting new clients. I am satisfied. On the other hand, it's always a good feeling to be completely free :)

in The Google of real estate search engines - Interview with Drew Izzo, Roost on HyveUp
You are right. I’ve checked Roost and it is something really different. Unfortunately it is not working also for Canada but I hope it will soon. Working as a Vancouver realtor I’ve also putted some search engine on my webpage. I was quite long considering the number of searching features and result was that less is sometimes more. My idea is keep it simple.
