Thanks for these series of Kitano stills Blake, you're a scholar and a gentleman! As for my favorite Kitano film, I'd probably go with Hana-bi if I was forced to choose (I love all of his films). I see it as his magnum opus of sorts, a perfect summation of his works. It also contains perhaps one of the most affecting closing scenes in cinema history for me. Hauntingly poetic.
Taking nothing away from Un Flic which is definitely quality, for me Melville's absolute best films are Le Samourai and Le Cercle Rouge. The man certainly new his way around a good crime thriller!
Could you possibly dig up some stills from Takeshi Kitano films? I've only been able to find HQ images from Dolls on so anything pre-2002 would be stellar. Also some 90's Wong Kar-Wai - Chungking Express & Happy Together in particular.
