We have not been able to watch any of the shows we love on the much touted CBS channel added a couple months ago. Constant buffering. Tonight was incredibly frustrating with the championship playoff between Oklahoma and Georgia cut off entirely at the critical end of the game! Failure of back server? Get your technical act together ATT!

Thanks for including A Traveler's Library. My title this year is a bit misleading, as I only consider books for Travelers who read--books that inspire someone to travel to a place or that shed light on a place they are traveling to.

What a gorgeous picture. I particularly like it because it is unexpected to see snow on sand. And Wow! Eight years! You know the vast majority of blogs fold within the first year, don't you? I used to really dislike tattoos, but I think that was partly because I had never seen any really well-done ones. Some are real works of art. Although I don't want to be wearing art on my body, I now can appreciate it in others. There is a Japanese art form of total body tattoo that is quite amazing.

I also associate cut grass with summer, but since I now live in Arizona, the smells of summer are totally different. We treasure the after-rain dusty smell of the creosote bush, for example. But you've reminded me of the smells of Cape Cod, and reminded me to pay more attention to the aromas in my life.

Ticks scare me. Sharks scare me. Somehow, here in Arizona where I know there are Rattlesnakes in the desert, and scorpions and black widow spiders and more rare Gila Monsters, I hike with no fear. I am so glad we don't have (at least yet) the plague of Lyme-disease carrying ticks. And until we get an ocean (you know, when California falls off the continental shelf) we're safe from sharks.

I didn't know about World Oceans Day, either. About this time every year I turn seagreen with envy for people who live near an ocean. In Tucson, we're so landlocked and every once in a while, I need an ocean fix. Best I could do would be to celebrate by listening to a CD of ocean waves. Sigh!

I can't relate to your original premise that art is boring--because there are as many different kinds of art as there are artists. But Dali is certainly one of the more thought-provoking--and sometimes just provoking! I love the St. Petersburg Florida museum, too.
