While I appreciate the introduction of a new feature in the game, I agree with your points. Particularly debuting it - and all the confusion of a new and hastily introduced raid type - to overlap with Community Day. I really don't understand the (lack of) thinking behind many of Niantic's decisions.

Part of that post-rebellion "radical change" and "crackdown" was The Oklahoman newspaper, which to this day -- see yesterday's front page story -- is squashing the truth and replacing it with right wing propaganda. Thank goodness for alternative media like Red Dirt Report!

I pretty much agree with your assessment of this sorry state of affairs ("dark"), but nonetheless will vote for Hillary, with nose firmly held. You don't have to be a Hillary "supporter" to say, sincerely and correctly that "She’s not Trump. She’s not a bigoted, nativist fascist." She represents a corrupt system, but it's system we are (sadly) familiar with and ready to fight, from the left, from Day 1. A US government with Trump at the lead will be a chaos, and become a impenetrable oligarchy, or worse (which I will not let myself even imagine -- because that dark will make this dark look like a supernova). There are many degrees of awful, let's not learn how many. For me, this is not a difficult decision.

Yes, I am tired and depressed by the electoral process, but I know what I'll be doing on Jan. 21: joining with others to put pressure on President Clinton and the rest of our government to change policy and budget priorities towards human needs and the Earth's future. And, gradually, hopefully not too gradually (the more of us there are, the stronger our power will be, so get active!) we will win. Regardless of the choice those on the Left make in this election, optimism is the only real option if you find Hillary (and other Democrats) lacking; and activism is the tool to give that optimism a chance to become reality.

Who set the deadline? Was it based on when the petition was started? If so, did the campaign's organizers not factor in the steps to take place after delivery? Or did the counting get dragged out strategically to prevent it getting on the ballot. For me, there are a lot of unanswered questions. For both sides.
