I just got home with the intention of posting this pick. But now I'm glad you beat me to it. Well said.

He's been kickin around down here in Texas for a while - he has 4 studio and 1 live album(s). I think he's a very clever lyricist and paints amazing visuals of rural Texas. His 'driving' music makes a road-trip blow by.

I plan on doing a full profile on Max sometime soon at This Mornin'...

Nice pick.
Kasey Chambers did a cover of this a while back. When I first got it, I had to double check that it wasn't a mistake in the artist column - they sound almost identical with those cute, slightly squeaky voices.

ok, so a number used in this way is known as a quantifier - which can either be a 'determiner' or a pronoun. In older grammar books, determiners where counted as adjectives, but there seems to be some discord with that more recently.

Hickory Wind was also one the first 'music' blogs i started reading. I found it sometime during my initial search into what Whiskeytown was all about.

I still check it regularly on Tuesdays to see which new album releases they're promoting.

The Wood Brothers also did an interesting cover of this one on their latest release, Loaded. Folkster Amos Lee helped out with the vocals, and they gave it a bumpy, reggae feel that i'm sure Jimi would appreciate.

interesting note.........

i caught john prine on ACL recently. He talked about overcoming throat cancer and how it significantly deepened his voice. He had to re-learn many of his own songs to fit his new pipes - i.e. playing them in different keys.

It breathed new life into many of his older tunes....
