When you look at this and hear the music it is almost impossible to square this with much of the music that was current at the time: exerpts from US Top 40 for 1981: 10. Keep On Loving You, REO Speedwagon; 26. Love On The Rocks, Neil Diamond; 27. Every Woman In The World, Air Supply; 31. Elvira, Oak Ridge Boys; Woman In Love, Barbra Streisand. This is 30 years ahead of its time and it sounds amazing and current today! these cats will go down as being more important than the Beatles.

Wow! I am totally jealous. I love European crowds! I have seen shows in London, Paris, Munich, Glasgow, Edinburgh, Rome, Amsterdam and they are a much different experience to the States which makes me kinda hate NYC crowds who often talk during shows, stand around being very cool, stroking their beards and comparing Burka Bags; it takes an act of Log to get them dancing without a DJ spinning something at 136bpm... That said, I am devastated that I am going to miss your show at the Bell House on Oct 24th because I have to go to a surprise Birthday Party in Pennsylvania. It's literally a block from my house! And it is an awesome venue with a really wide stage with a shallow yet w-i-d-e area for the crowd and great sound and sight lines...sigh... You'll rock the joint (in your kind and danceable non-rock way). Hope you are playing NYC again before too long.

Whoa, I saw a TV Special about "The Vomit Comet", part of astronaut training. Zero G has always been a dream of mine. I would do anything to be able to take a ride on that plane sometime...so jealous!

That's kind of awesome. reminds me of my grandparents. I have a friend who works for Death + Taxes magazine. He just sent me the Tom Hines photoshoot you did because he knows what a fan I am. Wow! You all look amazing. Heather, you should really wear hats more. The intro says you should be the pop band in a Truffaut or Goddard film, but I personally think Melville (a la La Samourai) is a better match or Jacque Demy and his Les Parapluies de Cherbourg might be the spot on match for ARS.

Heather - I have never played around with an MT-70, but the CT-410V is practically the same machine with a few odd features, but supposedly the same sound and interior architecture. Just a thought. There is one listed on eBay for like $20. It may be worth it in a pinch. I doubt Annie (or anyone on this planet) uses the light pen that comes with the MT-70, but the CT-410V doesn't have it. I just love your videos. I love that they are very narrative as opposed to purely graphical or merely image based. I love a good story. Especially one that illuminates a song a little more. My fondest memories of early MTV (when they actually played videos) were all the new ideas and information there was to add to your enjoyment/understanding of the song. Even when a video really had nothing to do with the song as was often the case with 80s videos, those images still became permanently attached to the songs in my head. The videos and songs are actually better when they are more tangential to one another, but still linked somehow - however esoterically. Oh...Sorry to blab in your comments...can't wait for the vid!

So glad you saw the review, and that you liked it. Of course if it had been
terrible - I would have been honour bound to say so even if you may have
read it. But, of course it was not terrible. It is rather beautifully
awesome.

When I realized I would be the first iTunes post, I slowed down and
concentrated on getting it right. There are so few newer bands that I am
really into, it was a privlege having a chance to help you reach a few more
people and hopefully sell a few more albums. I hope it works. The album is
really truly very good. It is so nice to see a total progression from your
earliest shows to this latest album. As a fan it has been gratifying and
validating as well. I obviously am not the only one out there who 'gets' you
guys. When you have 16 year old girls in Sweden making their own videos for
your songs and fans making you jewelry and their own posters (even if that
deer headed/naked one in France was kinda creepy) - you are obviously
connecting with people.

I am glad you came out of your Williamsburg music den to share your music.
And of course I'll hopefully see you at BOTH of the NYC shows. I never miss
a show!

I have actually seen part of this movie when I was in Poland! I have no idea what is happening. I didn't have subtitles, and I was hammer drunk, but it is generally so awesomely silly bad - it made me happy. I wept like I was watching Les Parapluies de Cherbourg (not really).
