He waited to the new version of laconi.ca came out; I LOVE laconi.ca. I can belong to a small community of mostly programmers and the like there, but I can follow people from other networks in my own timeline. It's weird at first, but once you get used to that; its awesome.

Re: Latest upgrade to Twhirl rocks !

You know whats awesome? I'm part of Leo Laporte's "TWiT Army" laconi.ca server and the whole reason they got the generic laconi.ca support so fast is that Leo was able to say he's got a few thousand people on the Army, so Loic helped get it out the door really quickly. A lot of us had an early beta of it for testing purposes. Not only that, they integrated the public feed support for laconi.ca installs too!
Loic and Marco are fantastic, and I wish them and their team well. What an amazing little piece of software they have there.
Anyone reading this, feel free to join us at the army, http://army.twit.tv - in a day or two, Leo had to take the server down for a day or two as the server dropped a RAID array :(

Re: Speed up Vista without spending a dime

I've noticed some other helpful things as well. I'm not a fan over pre-built computers, however with laptops you don't have too much of a choice. I recently tipped me dad off to a Toshiba that was only around $600 but the components were so well balanced - and Vista runs FANTASTIC on it. A lot of the people still having trouble (I presume) is ones that upgraded from XP or something else with not so new hardware. Even if the drivers work fine with Vista, it was never designed with Vista's architecture in mind.

My father has 3 gigs of RAM, and he only really does email, banking, and basic photography. Some may say that much RAM is overkill, but you are never waiting on the page file because the computer almost never has to really touch it.

Re: Share your feed - You'll feel good about it!

I know I have definitely found some very good blogs from your site Charlie!
